The only thing that annoys me with a bunch of these cultivation novels, why is it that the older something is, the better it is? If people are spending hundreds if not thousands of years trying to improve something, why is it that it doesn't improve, but gets worse? I've only ever read one novel that had really old cultivation techniques that were considered far inferior to the "modern" ones in that world. IDK it makes more sense to me....I see cultivation and the research and development in medicine as being similar. Both effect the body and mind and doing bad work or research into them could injure and adversely effect those that need to use the techniques they provide. That being said, medicine evolved to the point that if you can't give birth to a child naturally, you wont die. a hundred years ago, this was a death sentence. So, why is it that those that research and develop cultivation techniques are either less competent or just uncaring about good solid techniques than their ancient ancestors were? Do they just not place as much importance on developing solid techniques and maintaining standards?
