Chapter 5: Into The Lion’s Den Part 2

The maid Gilda leads the group of would-be thieves briskly through the Sullivan's massive courtyard.

"We must hurry and make are why towards the main house time is of the essence it is truly of the essence."

The calm and warm demeanor the kids had witnessed only a moment ago had quickly melted away, the maid no longer seemed measured and put together she seem nervous and frazzled.

"I mean do we have too so soon."

Came from roach.

"Why go straight to the main objective, can we do a couple of side quest come on."

Roach through his arm around the maid as he matched pace with her.

"Can't we take a view detours."

Roach flashed her his jackal like smile with his pearly white… I mean piss yellow teeth his actions and his bad breath agitated the maid.

"We do not have time for any dilly dallying!"

She shouted smacking Roach's arm off her she halted her pace wordlessly bringing the five others to a stop at this they could see her eyes, they were wild or maybe wild wasn't the word her eyes were full of something, better yet her eyes were full of a mixture of something anger determination desperation... And fear that hit of fear is what Jake noticed in her eyes.

"We don't have time for this we must get in and out before the family returns"

As she spoke the maid let more over herself slip specks of spit could be seen and felt to those nearest to her now.

"If you please follow me."

At that Gilda continued her original pace but soon she broke it again as she noticed that the thieves weren't following her, as she turned back around, she saw all five still planted in the exact same possessions and seeing this made the bit of anger in her eyes flare up.

"What… are... you... doing, I said we need to get going!"

Even after these words the newly formed statues didn't move this agitated the maid even more.

"Why… aren't… you… moving!!"

At this angered but still inquisitive question Tone spoke up.

"Well ma'am."

He said taking a few steps closer to her.

"It's like my buddy said, why go straight to the final boss when there's still so many side quest to do."

Tone smiled is ugly pig smile the sight of it made Gilda's stomach turn a little.

"Is this a game to you do you think this is a game!"

"no."

He shot back.

"But like a game we want the highest score we want what we were promised, we were told we could steal whatever we wanted along with the swords, and if we can't do that then we aint doing shit."

Silence hit the courtyard Gilda was stunned not by the balls on these slum children or by their bravery, she was stunned by the complete stupidity they were truly idiots and on one hand she was right to think that way, because everyone knew not to mess with the Sullivans but only one of them knew out of the six knew why that saying was so very true. The pure idiotic stupidity of these children would get them all killed so thinking on her feet Gilda composed herself slightly and forced on a grizzled smile.

"So why don't we do both, how about some of you go grab as much you can carry while the rest of you come with me."

The plan made sense divide and conquer, as they say thinking he had won Tone buffed his chested out.

"Not a bad idea if I do say so myself let's do it, Roach."

Whose name he called out like an army general.

"You Porcha and Coco go grab as much rich people shit you can carry, while me Jake and the maid here go complete the main objective."

"Oh, right you got boss!"

Erupted roach.

"Fine whatever, let's just hurry this shit up."

Scoffed Porcha, at the acceptance of this plan Gilda pulled out a set of keys from her apron.

"These will allow you to get in all the mansions, there aren't any family members here at the moment but make sure you avoid any other maids or butlers on the grounds."

As she was about to hand over the keys Roach reached out for them smiling from ear to ear, she deliberately avoided giving them over to him, seeing him as the obvious screw up he actually was handing them to Porcha instead.

"Hurry up and don't get caught."

Porcha snatched the keys from her hands.

"No shit not getting caught is the idea lets go already."

The team comprised of Porcha Roach, and Coco quickly made there way to the nearest mansion as Gilda Tone and Jake made their way to the main mansion, the Sullivan's courtyard was huge and lavish by itself it was nicer than the slums these homes that one would think were fit for a king were littered everywhere on the grounds their amount and size boggled Jakes mind.

"How many of them live here."

He asked as they passed an ornate water fountain.

"Many."

Gilda answered.

"To many the head of the family and his wife had eight children, and each of those eight have children of their own and some of their children have children, and all of those with their own families have a home for themselves and a personal group of maids and butlers assigned to a house."

"Oh, shit so you work for one of these houses."

"no."

Gilda snapped back.

"Not anymore."

As Tone and Jake followed the maid Gilda a house came into view a mansion so ungodly large that they were amazed that they hadn't notice it earlier, it dwarfed the sized of the others scattered throughout the courtyard Jake and Tone nearly asked a stupid question that they already knew the answer to this was the main mansion this was their destination. They climbed some stairs and the mansion was in front of them in its full glory the two boys from the slums began to slow there pace not out of fear but they couldn't help but take it all in, but Gilda oh Gilda's pace became more sharp each step she took getting closer to the massive home the more and more the fear in her eyes melted away it was being melted but her determination her anger and something else…. Hatred these three flames burned brighter and brighter as she stepped ever closer to the main mansion as the three entered the mansions insides what laid before them was decor that looked straight out of a children's fairy tale book both Tone and Jake's eyes went big. He couldn't help himself tone blew past Gilda stuffing his pockets with every shining expensive thing that could fit, jake was tempted to join him but he paused as he felt something a sensation a sensation coming from Gilda herself.

"What the fuck do you think your doing you useless fat pig."

At this Tone froze then turned around to face the maid Tone was only sore about one thing his weight making jabs at his weight was the only way to incur his wrath, but when he had turned back to face the maid, he had lost his grip on that wrath standing before him and standing next to jake was a mad woman, the flames burning inside Gilda were now a blazing inferno.

"We... split... up… for… a… reason!"

She said enunciating each and every word.

"We're here for the armory, so stop playing in the mud you damn pig and let's go!"

There was now arguing they followed her lead silently with not a hint of bravado at this point the three were damn near marching down a lush hallway with Gilda as their general, they continued down at a quick pace until something or more like someone stopped them. An older woman much older than Gilda came around a corner in front of them the older woman was dressed in a similar maid attire as Gilda she was pushing a buggy full of dishes and was brought to a complete stop herself when her eyes landed on the group in front of her.

"Gilda?"

She asked puzzled.

"Gilda what are you doing here? You know you're not stationed in this home."

Then the old maid lost her train of thought as she noticed the two young men standing behind Gilda, thier cloths were ratty dirty the old maid knew they didn't belong here.

"Gilda what is the meaning of this?!"

She raised her voice.

"What are you doing, and who are those two hoodlums!?"

Before she could ask another question before she could call out for help before she could do anything, Gilda swiftly walked towards the old woman reached out and grabbed a knife off the buggy, and before she could react Gilda slit the old maid's throat. Crimson blood spilled out of the wound she tried to gasp for air but none came to her for a second the old maid was standing, and the next she was falling onto the buggy of dishes blood and broken dishes were spread everywhere they only sound heard was the breaking of plates and bowls and the clinging and clanging of utensils, then silence there was a strong silence that felt like it lasted forever, then the sound of spitting broke the silence Gilda spit on the body of the old woman laying lifeless on the floor, then she turned to look back to look at Tone and Jake terrorized by the scene in front of them and in a calm tone Gilda said.

"It seems we have less time now, let's hurry."
