Chapter 10~ Axx And The Future Seemed So Bright

"I have a year left in my schooling at Knight's Academy. I have already been accepted to protect the royals in the Sun Kingdom. When the letter reached me, I almost had a panic attack. I know my worst nightmare has come to life. If I see them again, it could break me!" I think this as I feel too many emotions running through me at once.

"Yet, on the other hand, I feel like my dream of becoming a knight is coming true. It feels amazing. I could feel the excitement in the air for the future!" I exclaim out loud in wonder.

"I thank the Dragon for my life, but I curse it at the same time!"I think with worry as I want to scream, yet I am powerless to do so. No noise can seem to escape me.

"I can take this no more!'' I scream as I run out of the room and take a run. Thankfully, I had no more classes for the day.

I should not worry too much about the future and what it will bring me. "Within a week, of year 2. I am in more pain than I have ever been in. I feel like quitting sometimes, but I never do. If I quit, it would all mean nothing. Including them hating me." I think.

I think back to when I was training. I am thankful every day I never quit, as today, I graduated as the valedictorian of Knight's Academy.

I am the youngest to graduate, while everyone else was in their late 20s. "Now I can check it off on my checklist." I think happily as I walk off the stage. The anger in everyone's eyes makes me shiver, but I know they would not hurt me as they are family now. "Why would they try to harm me anyway when I have done nothing bad to them?" I think as I brush the anger away.

I shake my head. "Nothing will happen to me as the future is bright! I say this out loud as I finish packing everything.

"I am finally ready to face the world as a knight of the Sun Kingdom. My future is changing, and I can almost taste it in the air." I think with a smile.

I walk out of Knight's Academy as a new person. I look at the building one more time, sighing as I make my way to the Sun Kingdom. As I walk, my steps have a bounce to them as I am happy for the future. I never once thought it would go so wrong. I realize I am finally free to be whatever I wish to be. I can finally shine and become my own person!

I soon make it to the Sun Kingdom, I am ready to start work. My new fellow knights walk with me as we enter the Sun Kingdom. A parade is waiting for us. I can hear the people crying out my classmate's names. I just smile and wave at the people. I know I do not have a family to greet me as they do. I know this to be a fact as they are not in the crowd welcoming me home for the first time in years.

The next few days were very hectic for me. I felt like my destiny was finally starting. My future was bright, but I knew something bad will happen soon. As something in the back of my head kept telling me, "Be careful, soon something will come your way!" I feel almost scared of what is to come. No matter what I believe. I know whatever happens is meant to be.

I may be a well-known knight, but my downfall is that I live in a magical world with no magic. Working with Knight's who did, it was very... hard for me to, say the least.

The other Knights tell me constantly, "You are weak, a freak, and dumb." You are nothing without magic." They sneer at me daily as we make our rounds."

Their words never bothered me. To me, it felt like they are almost jealous of me. "That is impossible, right?" I think. The question seems to echo in my head like an endless record.

"I am different, and they see this as a bad thing. I do not let it bother me! My life was constantly an uphill and downhill battle. Maybe that is why I never felt confident. I would always shy away from everyone. It did not help that I am not used to being around others." I think as I watch every night before I go home. Everyone is friendly with each other.

Soon, the newness of being a knight for the royals wore off. We never did anything, as there was no such thing as a crime. I find myself quite bored. "I wish for excitement, not days that drag on! I feel like I am slowly dying of boredom" I think with despair.

My fellow knights want nothing to do with me. They see me as a bug on their shoe. They always told me. "You will never amount to anything!" For some reason, I knew this was a lie as they cackled evilly at me."I see great things in my future. I do not know how I knew this..." I think as I trail off.

I can not help but think, "Of far-off lands that held excitement and mystery. It is not like that will happen to me. I am just a poor Knight! It could never happen to me!" I sigh sadly.

"A boring life stuck like this forever. To me, it sounds like a prison sentence." I shudder at the thought of being stuck here forever. Of never doing anything to protect the people as I should be. I sigh sadly.
