eighty - "mint to be" - eighty

With all the drama between Dr. Minnick, Dr. Bailey, and the attendings at the hospital, Anna stayed far away from it. Instead, she enjoyed the rest of her free time before starting med school. After her graduation, and little crying sesh with Alex, Anna found herself letting go of all the feelings she buried deep down. She felt better. She felt good... and for the first time in a long time. She was actually looking after herself, doing what she wanted to do, and getting out of the house now and then.

Anna knocked on the apartment door, looking down the hall, hearing footsteps coming from inside the room. She smiled, putting her hands inside the pocket of her hoodie, as the door opened, "Hi."

"Hey." Colton smiled, greeting her.

"Wow." Anna laughed, waving her hand in front of her face, as her eyes burned the second the door opened, "That's an alarmingly strong odor of febreeze."

"Yeah. Well... I work out here," Colton shrugged, "I hate gyms."

"Okay." Anna nodded, her smile a little bigger, "Same."

"Are you ready?" Colton asked her, as she nodded, he closed his apartment door and locked in. He put his car keys in his front pocket and followed Anna down the flight of stairs.

"Let me guess? You wanna drive?" Anna followed him out the enterance to his apartment building.

"Yeah." Colton lead her through the gated parking lot for the building's tenants.

"Where are we going anyway?" Anna asked.

"Don't worry. It'll be fun." Colton replied, happy she finally agreed to hang out with him.

"What made your change your mind anyway?" Colton asked Anna, walking beside her as they took a stroll after watching a movie and then grabbing something to eat.

"With what?" Anna said, watching the ducks swimming in the large lake.

"Hanging out with me." Colton said, "I'm curious."

"Curious?" Anna giggled, already annoyed with the butterflies in her stomach that got worse the more time she took to get to know Colton, "Well... I guess, it's different. I graduated... a lot happened the last few years. A lot of bad stuff, y'know? Now, everything's kinda calmed down. Truth is, I'm just ready to have fun and stop hiding from everything."

Colton looked down, his gaze everywhere but Anna, as he hesitated.

"Go ahead." Anna encouraged him, "It's okay."

"I heard about your dad... and, uh, a lot about some of the things you went through. That's kinda why I stopped bothering you, asking you to hang out with me... I'm just really glad you're okay."

"I had to be. I never thought I'd feel like this again, after everything, but here I am."

"Feel like what?"
