Chapter 12: First Kill

"Lucien, hurry up, hurry up." Gali hopped like a rabbit down the street.

It was another beautiful morning. Lucien took Gali outside before looked at her stupidly. It was hard for him to see how she resembled an alien.

Last night, Gali drank the King of Biceps steroid but yet nothing happened to her. As the system wouldn't not give fake medicines, that means the real problem was Gali.

And after seeing his cold face with cross-bows lowered in a glare, and the promise of her warm bed and sweet food becoming lost, Gali revealed the truth of her origin to Lucien.

But that didn't really help with what she said.

Gali only said that she was an alien, and that her father was a super powerful boss, she didn't Lucien anything else, only that him not knowing was for his own good.

Then again, Lucien didn't really reveal the whole truth to Gali either, because he never explained to Gali how he preformed the lightwave ball.

Everyone has their own secrets, and there is no need to fully explain them.

Gali holds the ability to eat, the more energy-rich the thing she is eating, the better, so the super steroid was like a rare delicacy in her eyes.

This allowed Lucien to learn that Gali was potently a top-level powerhouse on the earth. Drinking something with a vast amount of energy and receiving no response at all, even after it is completely consumed. This was terrifying.

But at the same time, it made him all the more curious about Gali's father, after all he thought that Gali had meant that her father was dead but now it seems that is very unlikely.

Gali must be a main character in the Marvel Comic Universe, it is unfortunately that Lucien was not strictly a real marvel fan and knew anything about her.

Lucien's meta knowledge largely seems only from the content of the Marvel Movie Universe(MCU) plus the X-Men movies. Other then that he would only know some preliminary basic knowledge of Marvel.

The highly illogical settings and parallels of the comics blocked his understanding of the universe. In his previous life, he didn't have a lot o time to read through and learn about comics.

"I only know that the most powerful is 'The one above all(OAA), the next-point life court, and the next-generation gods of the world. Other than that, I know there are more powerful character, I just can't remember them..."

Even if he wanted to search about the comic universe with his system, he found out that it did not contain anything to do with Marvel-related information what so ever, but he did find DC comics.

I guess that with crossing over, comes security.

Lucien sighed, and before becoming happy once more. As it turns out, his current trump card is not the system, but Gali.

At the same time, the morning news for America was displayed on a screen wall on a building in Times Square.

"The New York Times commented: The comic market has changed dramatically overnight and with the popularity of "One Punch Man" is soaring it is likely to continue, with it's setting that overwhelms traditional heroes is amazing."

"Washington Post commented: The company called Marvel Comics released a new issue of the comic magazine named "Shounen Jump" yesterday, it has already began to suffer from a panic buying wave. Experts on the topic believe that the level of craziness is expected to last for another week."

"The Los Angeles Times commented: The setting of "One Punch Man" is completely opposite to the value concept of "America Team", and readers are hooked."

"U.S. Reviews Today: A dark horse comic has begun to challenge the status of "The American Team". The messy settings have made some battlefield veterans ashamed to compare it with "The American Team". They called on this cartoon to undermine the American spirit and demand it be banned."

After listening to this news board cast, Lucien did not become irritated by the comments of the U.S. Reviews News. Instead, a smile appeared on his face.

The United States even sells guns and books that curse the president. What does a mere comic book do that goes against the already existing view of heroism in this country.

This is a free land, Anything goes in America.

If it is controversial, and the news lets the world know that that then some people who haven't read the comics would now pick up 'One Punch Man' and just read it to why they compared it to the 'American Team'.

This all provides invisibly that fits for Lucien to help increase his fan value points.

At this moment though, the reporters face changed slightly before he resumed staring directly at the camera, and hurriedly saying: "This is an emergency interruption of breaking news. The whereabouts of Tony Stark, The chairman of Stark Industries, have become unknown as of yesterday. The relevant departments have become involved in this investigation."

As soon as the voice fell, Time Square fell into a weird silence, before immediately becoming noisy again. Pedestrians talking about what they just heard.

Stark Industries is the number one arms dealer in the United States. The disappearance of the chairman of the board of directors will definitely cause the stock to fall sharply. There were many different opinions on the situation.

Soon though the video of the building changed, and what appeared was a debate about mutants, a red-haired girl was standing on the stage to speak, revealing an elegant temperament.

She was named Jean Grey.

"Gentlemen and ladies, mutants are humans and are only a result of human evolution…"

But a member of the audience directly interrupted her speech and bluntly said: "Are mutants a danger for the common human?"

Then the two people then argued over this, before the senator's mutant threat theory was greeted with applause from the audience, and even the pedestrians in the square applauded and agreed.

Recently, the problem of mutants had become more and more serious. The proposal of Congress to submit a bill on the registration of mutants has caused waves in society.

In order to express their dissatisfaction, many mutants began to preform acts of evil everywhere, which only ended arousing the extreme disgust of ordinary people. In this context, it was futile to say good things about mutants.

Lucien raised his brow and took Gali down the street, thinking in his head; 'When Tony returns, the era of superheroes will truly come, and the threat posed by mutants will be insignificant at that time. What's more, it is clear that from the X-Men movie "Days of Future past" that in fact, most of human beings do have a hidden potential x-gene, and all of them are mutants.'

Looking at these debates with this knowledge makes it look like a joke.

Lucien and Gali stopped as they walked through an alley. Several gangsters had gathered around, their exposed skin was tattooed with unknown symbols.

"Boy, it doesn't matter to us if you know the girl behind you leave, otherwise. . ." One of the bastards walked towards them, already directly threatening them with an arrogant posture.

Gali or the girl looked exquisite and the gangsters were sure that she could be sold through gang channels for a good price.

Lucien however was not as timid as the gangsters would believe and instead his face was calm and he smiled; "Wow, your the first gangster that I've ever met."

The gang trafficker's idea of taking Gali had already meant that they had no desire to survive the encounter at all in Lucien's eye.

Gali pouted her lips in disdain, however she was stopped from moving forward by Lucien when she had tried to move.

"It seems that you made your choice."

The several gangsters scanned the surroundings with a fierce gaze and found that no one else had noticed them here. So among them, a big man walked up to Lucien like an upright grizzle bear, showing extreme cruel expressions from his face.

The burly man raised his huge hand and swung violently, as if he wanted to launch the weak chicken in front him flying, but right before his hand moved towards Lucien a sick *Belching* sound echoed. The gangster felt his abdomen become chilled and his mind losing consciousness.

All the other gangsters next to him were wide-eyed, their eyes showing nothing but horror, and their scalps numb.

They had only saw a flash of white light, and a big hole that was directly formed once it pierced straight through the abdomen of the moving gangster. The scarlet blood had long been instantly evaporated by the lightwave, and only a corpse fell to the ground.

"M-Mutant! It's a mutant!"

"Monster!! He is a monster!"

"Run!!"

The trembling voices of the gangsters yelled out hysterically, before they all fled in different directions all trying to escape the duo.

"Stop them."

"OK!"

A purple light seemed to curtain both ends of the alleyway, forming an indestructible mountain. The gangsters would never escape from it no matter how much they attack the wall.

"When you travel to Marvel, you must be ready to kill anyone."

Energy flowed everywhere, and several lightwave balls gathered around Lucien before floating around him. Under the dazzling light, Lucien face became colder and frosty.

"I am ready."

In the next instant, desperate wailing sounded in the alley.
