Chapter 17-Akatsuki make their escape

Outside of the Genjutsu void....

The three-pronged kunai would hit the water hard, sinking to the bottom of the river. Immediately afterwards the fourth hokage fell to his knees before the worried eyes of everyone who hadn't known what just happen in that spilt second.

In their view, Minato had locked eyes with Itachi before freezing up, and falling hard against the water. However before they could even think about what happen to the fourth hokage they were attacked by the other two akatsuki members who had moved in front of them to finish them off.

Kushina embraced her anger at seeing her husband fall and took out her golden chains. Kushina immediately threw the chains against Kisame who only smiled at this. In a single cut with Samehada the golden chains were absorbed by the shark-skin sword as if it was spaghetti.

Kisame without wasting any time launched towards Kushina with a single cut. Kushina could only watch in some fear as the slice moved towards her at a speed she wouldn't be able to block in time, but to her luck, Kakashi would block the sword with a kunai before be launched away.

Kushina taking advantage of this distraction would take out a sword from a seal of storage to immediately shoot out against Kisame, who would only create a clone of water that would block Kushina's attack.

Naruto moved onto Gai and Asuma, taking a deep breath and taking his posture.

*Moon breathing: Sixth form:Perpetual Night, Lonely Moon - Incessant *

"Goodbye."-Kokushibo said as he made a devastating cut against his opponents who could only open their eyes in awe before such an attack given by kokushibo.

Gai just manage to block most of the moon attacks with his nunchakus, but Asuma was not as lucky. Asuma didn't have the same luck as Gai since he couldn't block the number of cuts whiling still recovering from his missing arms. As thus Asuma received most of them. Asuma limply fell to his knees in the water while his blood was sprayed onto the surface. The water surface was dyed red around him.

Gai looked at this with concern, but seeing how Kokushibo had got back in another position to attack quickly and without hesitation Gai resorted to opening the first 5 gates, to shoot out a counter for Kokushibo.

Now Kokushibo was surprised by Gai's speed, but without giving it much thought he quickly place his sword like a shield to block Gai's blow, but his surprise it wasn't at all pleasant since after receiving that blow Kokushibo was thrown backwards by its power.

Naruto would preform a somersault in mid air to land back onto his feet in the river, before shooting towards Gai who copied the movement and both met face to face.

The first to make an attack was Naruto who preformed another attack with his katana. *Moon breathing; Third form: Deadly Moon of abandonment*-Naruto breathed out and in a quick act of movement Gai was surrounded by several crescent moon cuts.

However, Gai wasn't taking this laying down, and with a powerful jump...Might Gai dodged the cuts that had aimed to take his life.

Gai in mid-air would launch his counter attack against Naruto who only made a different posture to defend himself from Gai's kicks.

*Fifth form: Phantom Moon Cursed Vortex*-Naruto said and in that one continuous movement made hundreds of hundreds of cuts that came out defending himself from gai's ax kick who could only use his nunchakus to block the incoming attacks.

Gai would fall firmly into the water while looking at Kokushibo, who was simply on guard against any attack he tried to make, however in the midst of that silence a voice would be present, this being Itachi's.

"We're leaving." -Itachi said. So Kokushibo and Kisame turned to see the Uchiha who was standing in the middle of both sides while in front of him was a kneeling Minato.

Naruto would only close his eyes for a moment to feel how many ninjas and anbu were approaching the place. So giving into Itachi the voice of reason. Naruto would start running quickly towards Itachi and despite the fact that Gai still moved to get in his way.

Naruto would only use 'Spinning Moon Dragon Tail' to make Gai move from path so that he could make his way towards Itachi, while Kisame only created more water clones to cover him from Kushina and Kakashi's attacks, and then headed towards Itachi.

Before the furious look of Kakashi and Kushina who began to fight with more force against Kisame's clones, and managing to defeat them as they took advantage of the fact that the water clones became weaker the further away the original user is.

The three members of Akatsuki would meet again to begin to leave, however Gai, Kushina and Kakashi would stand in their way of escape, and when Naruto and Kisame were going to finally end this with their best techniques. Itachi started talking aloud.

"You three, if you don't let us leave right away at this time, they will die."-Itachi said as he turned to look at a specific place on his left where the bridge was, and for those capable to turn did so to see what Itachi was pointing at.

Kurenai, Minato and Asuma were held by their neck by Itachi while his kunai was a few millimetres from their necks, and it was not only the jonin that where on the on the bridge being held. Two other Itachi clones were holding civilians, these being a mother with her daughter.

The Konoha ninjas would just clench their fists tightly and without being able to do more. They would have to give free rein to the three akatsuki who had begin to quickly withdraw from the place.

However, on the way to his escape, Itachi would make a hand seal for release.

A huge explosion happen on the bridge removing all the supporting and plunging the hostages into the cold water as more of the wood fell onto them.

The clones of Itachi began to get fat and the Konoha ninja's looked with fear as they bursted into a flock of crows leaving the hostages to their fate.

To their luck though, several clones of Kakashi came out of the water and save their companions and the two civilian hostages.
