Completing the mission - Chapter 8 - Part 2
Damian grabbed her and pulled her back when she was about to charge into the battle.
The Cloud Stepping Horse jumped between the attacker and its child taking taking the hit, receiving a deep gash on it's side causing it to release a pained cry.
Which caused Kie-er to give him a blaming look. Shaking his head with a wry smile Damian spoke to Hope.
"what are their cultivation levels"[asked Damian]
(The Cloud Stepping horse was originally a early Spirit Connection cultivator and the Thunder Leopard was at Stage 14 of Body Refinement. After the Cloud Stepping horse gave birth her strength dropped to early Stage 13 Body Refinement hence why the Thuunder Cloud took the risk)[said Hope]
"hmm"[frowned Damian ]" come on Kie-er we'll risk it"[Said Damian]
(I wouldn't advise you to, even though its hurt it still has the power of a stage 9)[advised Hope]
"if I always retreat i won't be able to make any progress"[ said Damian as he took Kie-er and circled around trying to get behind the Thunder Leopard]
(and there's a part of me that wouldn't allow me me run) [thought Damian as his eyes glowed slightly]
"Kie-er, my defense is better than yours so I'll distract it while you pick the right time to use your movent skill and attack it's back legs. Its biggest advantage is it's agility so we need to limit its movements if we want to deal with it"[said Damian to Kie-er who noticed the change in his eyes]
She nodded and separated from Damian.
Damian unsheathed his sword and lowered his posture unconsciously as the glow in his eyes burned brighter before he shot toward the leopards back before slashing out. Managing to slice the beast before he was slapped away by its tail sending him flying . The Thunder Leopard looked at the human who dared to sneak attack it and their eyes met causing it to feel slight fear. Then it felt ashamed knowing it, one of the kings of this forest felt fear toward an ant and growled in anger and charged at him disregarding its past opponent.
The beast appeared in front of Damian and slashed at his head wishing nothing more to tear him apart. "Nine wave sword art: first wave"[ said Damian as he used the swordart he bought from the system] Claw and sword clashed causing a shockwave as both figures retreated. The Thunder Leopard took a couple steps back before displacing the force while Damian flew back several meters crashing through sevel trees before catching his footing.
The Leopard was about to charge again when it felt danger from behind.
"Nine wave sword art: Third wave"[shouted Kie-er appearing behind the Leopard releasing all the power her body held ]
The Thunder Leopard barely managed to stop the sword from completely removing its hind leg as it roared in pain before slapping away Kie-er causing her to land heavily on the ground spitting up blood . It's eyes turned bloodshot with madness as it shot towards the fallen Kie-er with the fastest speed it could muster with 3 legs opening its large mouth intending to rip her apart before a large figure appeared between them just as it bit down.
"KIE-ER"[shouted Damain as his eyes started to glow more intensely as he's charged toward the distracted Leopard cracking the ground as he moved ]
"NINE WIVE SWORD ART: 4TH WAVE"[bellowed Damian as he drove his sword into the leopards neck only managing to cut half way before it stopped]
"damn it, I don't believe I can't kill you today, Nine wave sword art: 5th wave" (screamed Damian as his arms bulged and started to tear as blood shot out as he pushed his sword forward completely beheading the leopard]
"hahahaha we did it"[said Damian as he collapsed]

"hmm?"[asked Damian as he felt something wet on his face]
Struggling to open his eyes, he was met with the sight of a crying Kie-er.
"stop crying, you'll look ugly" [said Damian as he tried to wipe her tears but stopped when he saw his bloody arms]
"it's my fault...hic...if I didn't want to help....you wouldn't have gotten hurt"[said Kie-er as she cried even harder remembering how wretched Damian looked when she found him]
Damian ignored the pain and sat up and brought her into his embrace
"it wasn't your fault we both wanted to help. This is why we need power, so we won't end up like this anymore, with enough power we chould do anything, so no more tears.[said Damian as he stroked her head]
She nodded her head and continued to cry into his chest, determined to get strong enough to protect Damian as she fell asleep in his embrace.
"Hope what happened when we were fightting"[asked Damian after recalling the fight]

"Hope?"[asked Damian when he didn't receive an answer]
(hmph so no now you want my opinion after ignoring my advice and nearly getting yourself killed)[replied Hope in an angry tone ]
Her reply surprised Damian as he fell into silence.
"I'm sorry Hope, but how am I going to grow if i only retreat. I'll always charge forward if there's a chance of me succeeding"[said Damian as his eyes started to glow once again]
"but don't worry I don't plan on throwing my life away after just getting a new one I still have many things to do and look forward to"[said Damian as he looked at Kie-er with a smile]
(sigh I guess you're not entirely at fault)[said hope]
"what do you mean"[asked Damian not expecting such an answer]
(I guess you could call it a side effect of your bloodline)[said hope]
(your bloodline will affect your personality, that inborn arrogance and pride which fuels your stubbornness and your possessiveness for those you care about. Those are all by products of integrating with your bloodline and it'll only get worse as your bloodline strengthens)[explained Hope before he could ask]
He fell into silence remembering everything that happened
"well I guess that makes sense"[said Damian in a nonchalant tone after thinking about it some more]

"can I get my rewards now? wait what happened to the Cloud Stepping Horse?" [asked Damian when he didn't notice it around]
(it left to go heal iits wounds, after indicating it'd return)[ explained hope]

Damian had a grim expression on his face as he listened picturing what could have happened if the Leopard didn't die when it did.
After calming down down he stared into the distance after lifting Kie-er.
"now that I can cultivate, i won't let anyone take anyone from me anymore"[said Damian in a cold voice as his eyes swirled with killing intent before turning and leaving]
