I pick up trash in the apocalypse

"Ahh! Ahh!"
In a rather small room, seven or eight disheveled men and women, some seated, some standing, each occupied different corners, while a lone, frail girl huddled in the corner, unnoticed by anyone.
Her delicate eyebrows furrowed, and she trembled as she opened her ink-like eyes, brimming with bewilderment and shock, which went unnoticed by the others.
They were all gazing at the howling wind outside, as a powerful typhoon wreaked havoc, causing a massive billboard on a distant skyscraper to tumble, shocking them all.
As Rachel surveyed the people and objects before her, she could only summon one word deep in her heart—a plant—cursing under her breath.
She remembered dying at the hands of those cannibalistic fiends, succumbing in the murky sewer of the refuge shelter in city B.
Even as she faced a brutal beating and slashing from four burly men, she clung on until her last breath, snatching a knife from one of them and plunging it fiercely into the heart of the final assailant.
Right up to her dying moment, Rachel could only think of one thing—if she had managed to eat just a little more, she would have had the strength to slay them all, instead of meeting the same fate as them.
"Boom! Boom!"
Another thunderous crash snapped Rachel back to reality.
