"I'll be staying here from now on, Daisy."

"Are you going to stay here?"

"Yes. My uncle's business is not doing well. Even though it was all because of Stefanny, last night I thought about it well. If I continued to live with them, I would only cause them trouble. It would be better if I stay here and find a job that suits me. Starting all over again."

"Stefanny? Your stepmother? Did she do something bad again?" Daisy asked, starting to get angry. "Why doesn't she stop hurting you!"

"I don't know exactly how, but Stefanny purposely got my uncle's business into trouble. She did it so that I would come to her wedding later."

"Why did she do it? Wouldn't it be much better if she didn't have anything to do with you anymore? What an evil woman!"

"Her husband knows about me. She wants to meet me. That's why Stefanny asked me to come to her wedding. She knows if she asks me directly I'll refuse and that's why she's messing with my uncle's business," Lana explained, "but it made me realize that I shouldn't bother them. I have to live alone, Daisy. This is my life. I can't continue to depend on my uncle and aunt. They have a life of their own. I couldn't possibly mess it up."

Lana didn't want to be labeled as a parasite that troubled her uncle and aunt. Like Stefanny said.

"Oh, Lana. Come here…." Daisy almost had tears in her eyes as she gave Lana a hug. Many bad things have happened to Lana and made her life difficult. "Lana. You can say anything about what you need. I will help you as much as I can."

Lana wiped her tears with the back of her hand as she let go of Daisy's embrace. "Right now all I need is a job, Daisy. Can you help me to get a job? Whatever it is… it doesn't matter to me."

"I will try to find out if there is a suitable job for you. Maybe I can recommend you to the company I work for," Daisy said, "you're smart, Lana. I'm sure they will accept you."

Lana breathed a sigh of relief. "Thank you, Daisy."

"I'll let you know as soon as I get the results," Daisy said.

The week went by quickly. Stefanny's wedding day with Christian took place at night in a luxurious building they had deliberately rented. Of course not just anyone can enter because they have to use an invitation scanned by the officer when entering the party building.

Lana wore a short, knee-length dress. With light brown lace detailing. Her hair fell back, deliberately given a hair clip and a small decoration on the side.

Lana didn't know how rich the man Stefanny was, but everyone who came was very classy. Good decoration, food and of course the building. Everything shows how powerful a Christian is.

With trembling hands, Lana mingled among the guests present. She stood at the dining table without intending to taste any of the sumptuous food.

Go upstairs. A maid will stand by the stairs to escort you to my room. Tell him you're my messenger.

An incoming message from Stefanny made Lana's eyes widen. The woman was bossy and had no sense of politeness at all.

Lana snorted in annoyance. She looked around, then found the stairs leading to the top floor. Stomping her feet, he went through the crowd of guests. A male officer approached Lana and reflexively, Lana told him as Stefanny asked.

Without asking further, the male officer took Lana upstairs. They went to one of the rooms were on the left and right were beautiful flower arrangements. The officer knocked on the door, then a woman's voice answered telling her to come in.

"Please, Miss," said the officer as he opened the door.

"Thank you," said Lana.

She entered the room. Stefanny was seen sitting in a luxurious dress, busy with several people doing her makeup.

"You guys come out for a bit. I want to talk to her first," Stefanny said, telling the people to leave.

Lana approached Stefanny. She was standing right in front of her, looking at her reluctantly. She was sick of seeing Stefanny wearing a wedding dress.

"How do I look today? Do I look pretty?"

"Too beautiful to cover your rot."

"Watch your mouth, Lana." Stefanny's eyes sharpened. "Be nice or you'll see your uncle and aunt's business crash."

"You can't do that, Stefanny! You promise not to disturb them if I come here!"

"That's right. But I can also change my mind if you're not polite to me, Lana."

Lana tried to control herself. "I won't do it again," she said in a muffled voice.

"Smart girl," Stefanny smiled with satisfaction. "You will meet Christian when our wedding is over. While waiting, you can enjoy the party. There are a lot of rich single men coming, I'm sure you can seduce one of them for your husband."

"I'm not like you who like to find rich men to marry, Stefanny."

Stefan chuckled. "You're overestimating yourself, Lana. One day you will lick your own spit."

Lana screamed inwardly. She wanted so badly to scold Stefanny, but she couldn't.

"Oh. I'm here to bring gifts for your wedding. I think you'll like it," said Lana, handing Stefanny a small box.

"I didn't expect you to bring me a present, Lana," Stefanny said with a disdainful smile.

"Even so, open it. I want to see if you like it or not." Lana smiled meaningfully.

Stefanny opened the small box and her eyes immediately sharpened. She looked up to give Lana an angry look.

"What's this?!" she asked in a high-pitcheds voice.

Lana looked up with her head slightly tilted forward, then pretended to be surprised with one hand covering her mouth when she saw that there was nothing in the box she was carrying. "Oh. The box is empty," said Lana, "it's true that people like you don't deserve any gifts, Stefanny," Lana said casually, "congratulations on your marriage, and may your husband have a long life."

Then, Lana turned to walk away. She could hear the sound of things slamming with a growl coming from Stefanny's mouth. It was very satisfying to make Stefanny angry. That's what Stefanny deserves after what she did to her family.

"Ouch!" Lana immediately screamed loudly when she bumped into someone as soon as she left Stefanny's room. "S-sorry! I didn't mean it―" Lana's voice suddenly disappeared when a pair of brown eyes caught the familiar face of the man she bumped into. His luxurious suit, the intoxicating masculine smell, and the cold look in his eyes. All of that felt very familiar to Lana.

The foreign man smirked, a smile that Lama's body shuddered with horror. The movement of the man's hand was so controlled as it touched Lana's chin and erased the distance between them.

"I caught you, little bunny." His smile widened, then closed with a mischievous peck on Lana's lips.
