Chapter 17

{POV: Kai Carter/Yellow Flash}

When I arrived at the Arena, I was very confused. All the buildings I saw before were either made of hide, straw or at best wood.

However the 'Arena' in front of me is a giant colloseum made of stone. It looks very similair to the colosseums in Italy.

It was a couple hundred meters away from their tribe and the very tall trees blocked the view, so I didn't see it before.

How the hell did they built this? Or did they built this? Probably not, since they don't even have many straw houses and only 2 wood houses.

I also wondered to who that second wood house belongs to? The first wood house was from the chieftain. That should mean, that the second wooden house should also belong to someone important.

But why didn't they just live in the colloseum then? Or atleast live near it. They live a couple hundred meters away but I don't really understand why?

Maybe I'll ask them later but first of all I will have to defeat everyone in the Arena. When we arrived infront of a metal gate, I saw many tribesman guarding the place.

I don't really get the structure here? There are guards, so that means they are frequently using this place. Then why aren't they closer to it? Thoughts for later...

"Open the gate! We have a new challenger!" The hunting group leader shouted to a guard.

The guard looked towards me, before he shakes his head in dissapointment? Oi, what's actually going on here?

Why are all of them treating me like I'm already dead? The men I'll be fighting can't be that strong right? From living in this world for 20 years, I obviously know that there are no mutants in this world.

The only thing that could really even come close to hurting me, would be the mutants normally living here?

That also includes the mutates who would've been created my the mutant Magento but since he doesn't exist, there are no Savage Land mutates.

(A/N- Important Notice:

Mutants are people gaining powers from their X-Gene.

Mutates are people gaining powers from everything else including failed experiments, serums, accidents, radiation, etc.

[This does not include people like Thor, who were born like that]

Example for mutants: X-Men, Magneto, Sabretooth, Emma Frost etc.

Example for mutates: Spider-man, Captain America, Black Panther etc.

Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch are a bit complicated, since they are mutants in the comics but in the MCU they are mutates. In my story they're also going to be mutates.)

If that's all true, who could be so strong, that all these tribesman are scared of him? Hmm, I guess I'll find out soon enough. Following the tribesman was a good choice I think.

I mean I will probably fight a pretty strong guy and even though he probably can't hold a candle to me, it would be interesting to fight against him.

We slowly walked inside the colosseum until we reached a big room, that was right infront of a gate. The gate lead to the middle of the closseum, where the gladiators normally fight.

It had all kind of weapons in it. There are swords, axes, spears, knives, shields, armor, morningstars and many different weapons in it made of metal.

Somehow they all had great quality and looked well maintained. If they have such good weapons, why don't they use them to hunt? Most of their weapons are made of stone or bones, so why wouldn't they take these weapons but rather hunt with those bad ones?

I looked towards them before saying, "Uhm guys? If you have such good weapons here, why don't you use them to hunt instead of those?" I said while pointing at a stone spear of a tribesman.

"Because we're not allowed to." A female voice answered behind me.

I turned around, only to see a real stunning beauty. She had long, brown braided hair that reached up to her hips, brown eyes and beautiful lips. Her body was tanned and full of muscles, while still being very slender. They were so compact, that if she had a little more clothes to cover her body up, I wouldn't have know she even had muscles.

She had great curves, which complemented her body greatly. Her face was also very stunning. So much even, that outside of the Savage Lands she could've become a model. Her height was also tall for a woman of this tribe, since she was about 5'5-5'7. In this tribe, that's very tall for a woman because most other woman were barely 5'0-5'3.

I was very stunned, seeing such a beauty in this tribe but I quickly regained my focus. "Well hello there, my name is Kai. Can I ask what you mean by, 'not allowed to'?" I asked her.

She struggled for a it before saying, "My name is Amayeta." in an conflicted tone before continuing with, "Exactly like I said, these are holy weapons gifted from our gods, only to be used in the Arena fight by holy gladiators. So we're not allowed to use them for anything else." She explained in a annoyed tone.

I obviously picked up on that but I decided to ignore it for now. I don't know why she doesn't like me but what she said is currently more important for me to find out.

"Well you see, I'm actually not from around here-" I said to her with a slight chuckle, before continuing by asking her, "so could you explain it in more detail?"

She looked me up and down, with a bit of reluctance but finally sighed. "Alright, since you too are now a holy gladiators, I will explain our history to you." She said.

I nod towards her, to signal that she can start explaining. She picks up on it and starts talking, obviously still annoyed.

"A long time ago our gods visited us. They were mightier then every one of our hunters combined and had great technology. When they visited us, we had nothing and couldn't speak but they slowly tougt our ancestor how to speak the language called english." She explained.

"How long ago was this exactly?" I ask her.

"It was a very, very long time ago. My grandfathers grandfather wasn't even born then." She answered me.

"They built this Arena and those holy weapons." She said while pointing at the metal weapons.

When she pointed at the weapons and I turned around, I saw that the hunting group already left, probably at the start of our talk.

"The Arena was firstly built for training and a bit of entertainment but over the years that changed greatly. We'll come back to the history of the Arena later." She said.

"Our gods were so mighty but even then, they still shared some of their might with us. With their powers we could jump higher then trees, outrun swiftscales, destroy trees with one punch and so on. We call those people 'gods avatar' since they gained the powers of the gods." She explained with a bit of resentfulness.

Huh? But I assumed they weren't experimented on? Or did they somehow gain abilities differently? Also if they're so strong, why did they struggle so much against that...what did they call it? Targon? Something like that. Now I'm really curious about these so called 'gods'.

"When we gained those abilities, our lives got way easier. We could hunt most of the animals on this land and didn't have to starve. We could also live without always losing people to attacks." She said in a more resentful tone.

So from her reaction, I can probably guess that they somehow lost these abilities huh? Did her ancestors to something stupid to lose their abilities, or maybe something stronger came and killed all of those ability users? Maybe their abilities weren't permanent or couldn't be passed onto their kids?

"However, our ancestors were too greedy. Altough they had everything they could wish for, they still wanted more. The gods said they couldn't give us anymore power but our ancestor wouldn't listen. They thought that the gods just didn't want them to be stronger." She explained before taking a dmall pause.

"When they didn't get what they wanted, they raged war upon the gods. Of couse we were way weaker and very easily lost the war but we still managed to kill 3 of them." She said with venom, resentfulness, sadness and a lot more emotions, in her voice while a single tear rolled down her cheek.

I have to say, it's quite confusing why she would show herself in such a weak position, to a stranger she obviously doesn't like. So I asked her, "I don't understand why you would cry infront of me. I thought you were the person who would never cry infron of others, altough I'm not saying you shouldn't cry infront of me it's just a little confusing."

"Altough I don't like how you, an outsider became a holy gladiator, you still deserve respect as one. It's disrespectful to hide your weakness towards a holy gladiator, so I cried, you got a problem with that?!." She said angrily, probably to mask her sadness, which contradicts with her earlier statement. Well I can't judge her, it was probably a subconcious reaction.

"No, I don't got a problem with that. Sorry, if it's too much for you, we could take a pause until you want to explain again." I told her.

"No that's alright, where were we?" She said quickly. "Ah yes, like I said we managed to somehow kill 2 of the gods. This only happened because they were going easy on us and didn't want to kill us. We used this to bait them into a meeting. When they arrived we sneak attacked them and managed to kill 2 of them but we lost over thousands of tribesman for that." She explained in a sad tone.

"The gods were like family to each other, so once 2 of them died, they went on a rampage and nearly killed us all. From over a hundred thousand, only a couple hundred survived. They never wanted a situation like that again, so they took back their power and left. We don't know where they went but we never saw them again." She said in a sad tone.

After her explanation, I left her a bit of time to gather herself again and comforted her a bit more before I ask my questions. About 15 minutes later, I finally asked.

"But if you all lost your powers, then why are all the people acting like I'm already dead? I think that reaction would be normal if you didn't lose them and I had to fight one of them-" I said, downplaying my ability. "but since you all lost your powers, who will I fight against?"

She looked at me with a complex emotion before answering, "Well..."
