73 Test 2/2

'He can do no chant and its still better than some barriers on top of that?' Akon thought in surprise seeing the bright yellow barrier that looked sturdy.

But he soon got over it as he said. "Test start."

On his words, Kuze stepped up in front of me and slashed his katana towards my barrier.

When his katana hit my barrier, it immediately bounced back, Kuze striked again and got deflected, he didnt let up as he continued to strike until he stopped.

"All right that's enough, that good enough for me, what you guys?" Kuze looked towards Akon and asked.

"Were good." Akon nodded.

"Well kid, give your best shot." Kuze pointed towards the dummies.

I stepped up and put my palm forwards, a red orb gathering.

"Hadō #31. Shakkahō."

The red orb in my hand formed a large beam twice my size, as it shot forth towards the dummies, causing a muffled explosion and the dust to rise upon impact.

When the dust cleared the dummies were in bad shape.

"How much damage did that deal?" Akon asked.

"3-3,483 sir." A staff said in surprise, despite not chanting, his hadō was enough to rival some shinigamis hadō who use chanting.

'Wow amazing.' Akon thought in his mind.

Putting my hand back down, I looked at Akon. He nodded his head, while announcing.

"Kidō test finished."

"Which one do you want to do next?" Kuze asked.

"Hohō."

"Alright then." Kuze nodded towards Akon as the latter, pressed a button on one of the tables.

The whole ground started to shake as my observation haki picked up something big moving underground.

"You might want to move." Kuze said, moving to the side of the room.

I followed him and the ground split open, the dummies went down and a whole running course appeared in place of it.

"Okay, in here you will have to complete this course without getting hit by any of the projectiles thrown at you, if one hit you, then you failed, now please move to the starting place." Akon said.

I nodded my head as I went in front of the course and waited.

"Hohō test start."

I instantly disappeared as I was in the course next, I used the same speed as I used back in the tournament.

Suddenly, projectiles were thrown towards me, some being knives with dull tips and some being kunais.

I dodged them all with ease and continued to move forward. The more closer I get to the other finish line, the more faster and bigger the projectiles got.

But even then, not one hit me and I soon reached the other end of the course.

*Clap* *Clap* *Clap*

"Good, you managed to get through without even stopping." Kuze clapped and said.

"Thanks."

"Hohō test finished." Akon said.

Next I picked hakuda, as for the test, of course I'm going to fight someone barehanded and who could it be other than Kuze?

I didn't use armament haki during our fight because I wanted it to be fair, after 15 whole minutes of fighting, I managed to land an uppercut to Kuze's face followed by an elbow to the stomach.

That made him take several step back and admit defeat, Akon asked if he needed to rest or have someone replace him but he refused and now we are facing each other with our swords.

It was also intense but more since were using real swords, slashing, stabbing, dodging, parrying.

We did those several times until we telepathically decided to end it here.

"Incinerate the ones that stand in my way, Amber."

"Cover yourself in my enemies' blood, Sadrozu."

Two bursts of reiatsu came from us, making the whole room windy.

'Uhh, even though I already watched his fight, its still so absurd that three first year students can use their shikai, a feat that most shinigamis failed to accomplish.' Akon thought, covering his eyes from the wind.

Holding Amber in shikai form, I looked towards Kuze who was holding a naginata with a black handle.

But what caught my eye was not the weapon itself but the reiatsu being sucked from the surrounding and into him.

We resumed our fight and during so, I finally know what that reiatsu was doing, his shikai ability was that he could take reiatsu from his surroundings and use it to empower both him and his zanpakutō.

Its quite a normal ability looking from several animes perspective, but the thing is, the more he empowers himself and his zanpakutō, the more they can absorb the reiatsu from the surroundings.

Meaning that he'll get stronger and stronger. I imagine that there's a limit on how much he can make himself stronger because if there wasn't there he should be a captain by now.

Maybe the limit is how much his body can absorb since that is usually the explanation used.

I matched his strikes with equal force every time he gets stronger until I felt that his attacks stopped.

His breathing started to get rough, it looks like his started to reach his limit, I used the chance that he was catching his breath to barrage him with slashes.

The toll on his zanpakutō and the constant quick movement he has to make is starting to show itself.

I managed to push away his naginata as I punched him in the face, sending him stumbling backward.

He tried to regain his footing but I just tripped him and he fell on the ground, having the tip of my blade pointed at his neck.

Silence. The whole room was silenced, the whole 12th division staff along with Akon were shocked to see that I, a first year, defeated a previous 3rd seated officer.

I was not required to beat my opponent, I was a first year and my opponent was a full blown shinigami, my opponent would judge my zanjutsu and if it is good enough, will let me pass.

It was required that the one supervisor of the 12 division watching the test to say it and he was planning to but before the test, where they were just setting up things and Kentaro have yet to arrive, Kuze came up to him and told him to not say it.

He asked why and Kuze replied that he wants to see how far he's gone, Akon said that he can't just break the rules for that simple reason.

"Relax, I know that brat is strong, plus if I see that he can't keep us, I'll just end it there and give my thoughts."

After giving it much thought, Akon agreed, he's seen the boys swordsmanship on a video and was sure that he could keep up with Kuze, there was also the fact that the boy can use his shikai so he agreed.

Back to the present. After Amber towards his neck I looked at him in the eye and so did he.

He smirked and said, "I lost."

"And thank God for that otherwise I would lose." I said, putting my hand towards him.

He took it and stood.

"Don't lie to me brat, I could see that your not even exhausted."

'Oh yeah, I don't have that much sweat on me.' I thought looking down on my slightly wet shitagi.

"Well you pass the zanjutsu test, congratulations on becoming a shinigami." Kuze said.

Akon came up to us and said, "That was an amazing fight, Kentaro you can go back to your dormitory, you don't need to attend classes anymore since you already passed but if you want to then you can."
