19 A dedicated maid

Looking at the description of the skill I opened my eyes wide and went into shock.

I only got out of my shock when I felt water drop on my head.

Looking up, I saw that the left over light coming from the sunset was being covered by thunder clouds.

It had started to rain so I thought that I'll test this skill later and used the teleportation amulet to go to the front of my house.

As I was about enter, I remembered that I didn't have food in the fridge so I bought one for 2 people and I also bought a phone for her.

Going inside the house, I was flabbergasted by cleanliness of it and I swore that I saw that some spots were shining.

"Welcome back master." Hikari appeared from the kitchen and bowed.

"Wow you're really good at cleaning." I couldn't help but speak what was in my mind.

Hearing my compliment she smiled and said "It's a duty of a maid to be perfect in everything she does."

I didn't know what to day to that and just said "Well I know that I didn't have any food left, so I brought some for us and I also brought you phone."

I gave it to her but she pushed it back to me and said.

"No, I cant accept this, you've already done enough for me."

Looking at her face I know that I wont be able to make her accept it easily. After some time thinking I got an idea.

"A perfect maid must always be there when her master needs her, but how can you know when I need you if I can't call you?"

On hearing my words, her eyes brightened and her face had a realization expression.

"See? What if I'm far away from you and I need you but you don't have a phone how can I tell you? So just take it." I said while handing her the phone.

This time she accepted it and said "I'll repay you in the future."

When I heard that, I smiled and teased her "How can you repay me if I don't pay you?"

"Oh." She realized that she said that I don't need to pay her and turned red.

I chuckled seeing this and gave her some money then said "Here's some money for breakfast tomorrow, as for the change, you can keep it. For now lets eat."

We went to the kitchen and I put down the food then sit down and started eating.

After a few bites I noticed that Hikari wasn't sitting and eating so I asked "What's wrong? Do you not like it? If so, then tell me, I can order something for you."

"No, I like it."

"Then why are you not eating?"

"A maid can't eat at the same time with her master."

Hearing her answer, I couldn't help but show a helpless smile. I thought "She is really dedicated huh."

I said "Fine." then ate my food fast so that she can eat.

After a few minutes I finished. "I'm done, you can eat now." I said while getting up and going to my room.

Once in my room I decided that I should just absorb fire energies since I emptied it all when I used it together with sword splitting mountain against those hollows.

Sitting on my bed, I focused on my surroundings and started to absorb fire energies, when I was absorbing, I noticed that my absorption has tripled.

I didn't know what happened but then I thought that it has something to do with Amber.

"Amber do you know anything about this?"

"Yep the reason for this is because I'm helping you absorb fire energies and I'm also absorbing some that's why your absorption is 3 times faster.

"I didn't know that you can do that."

"Fufu this is only the tip of the iceberg."

Hearing her answer, I didn't ask more about her abilities since she doesn't seem to want to tell me.

"Oh yeah I almost forgot congratulations on getting a maid." I heard her voice.

"Thanks?" I didn't know how to respond to that and just said thanks.

I continued to absorb fire energies until I started to get sleepy. Looks like the exhaustion from killing hollows for hours is catching up to me.

I stopped my absorbing and laid down on the bed then closed my eyes.

I was awakened by the sound of my door being knocked and a voice.

"Master it's time to wake up."

I got up and yawned then stretched and went to open the door.

Opening the door I saw Hikari with a smile on her face.

"Good morning master." She said with a bow.

"Good morning to you too Hikari and also you dont need to bow to me like that it, I don't like it."

"Is that so... Ok master."

"I've prepared breakfast but I suggest that you take a bath first."

"Mhm thats what I'm also thinking."

"Good, I have already prepared your bath." She said while gesturing to the bathroom.

"Thank you." I said while walking towards the bathroom.

I heard her whisper behind me. "You don't need to thank me, I enjoy doing this."

I raised an eyebrow on hearing that but I didn't stop walking and went inside the bathroom.

Taking my clothes off, I put them inside the laundry and laid inside the warm bathtub.

"Ahh this is the life." I happily thought.

Few minutes later I finished my bath and when I was about to wear my clothes, I saw some, folded in the small table thats next to the sink.

I grabbed them and examined the clothes. "Did she use the leftover money from buying food to buy these?" I thought.

Adding the fact that she had no money on her except for the time when I gave some to her last night, it seemed that what I thought was true.

I smiled when I thought that and put them on.

"System buy me a card that has 80,000 yen in it."

I took out the card from my inventory and put it in my pocket.

I went got out of the bathroom and went downstairs, walking to the kitchen what I saw made me droll.

On the table, there was tempura, with miso soup, okonomiyaki and curry.

Even though 2 of them were normal dishes, the look they have and the smell that they were emitting made my hunger shot up through the roof.

"Hurry up and eat master otherwise the food will get cold."

I woke up from my stupor and asked a rather stupid question "Did you make all this?"

"Of course."

I realized what I asked and thought "Why did I ask that? Of course she'd be the one who made it, if not then who else."

Although he asked a stupid question he couldn't be blamed as the food she make both looks and smells better than the food in the system.

I sat on a chair and ate a piece of tempura, when I did, my mouth got attacked by a delicious taste.

"The food she makes taste even better than the food from the system."

"How does it taste master? Do you like it?" Hikari expectedly asked.

"It taste delicious Hikari, I never thought that you could cook this well." Was my reply

She giggled and said "There more to come."

"Well I'm looking forward to see what else you have in store." I smiled and said.

I continued eating the food and after a few minutes I was done.

"Here's some water." Hikari said as she handed me water.

"Thanks." I drank it and took out the card from my pocket and gave it to her.

"What is this?"

"Its your salary."

"Eh? But—"

I cut her off and firmly said. "No buts, you need to have your own pay otherwise just thinking that you work for me but I don't pay you, makes me feel bad and you also need to have a personal savings so that you could buy the stuff you want."

Hearing me words, she took it and gave the most brightest smile I have ever seen.
