What the Hell is Going On?!?!

Tyler was a normal student attending Willow High School. He was in the process of finishing up his senior year. He had just turned 18 roughly 2 months ago.

He was roughly 5ft and 11 inches tall with very dark brown hair and light brown eyes.

He wasn't considered anything special, he wasn't popular or too bright academically. He wasn't considered to be wealthy in any way in which case most stayed clear of him due to them thinking he was a weirdo, the girls would make fun of him behind his back and the guys would take any chance to smirk at him or abuse him.

Tyler had been treated this way almost all his life and was used to it at this point but it still hurt him every time he would be called trash or a weirdo by people who don't even know him.

His dad used to be in the military when he was little but unfortunately died many years ago in service. Since then his mother has tried to keep up the household and support Tyler in any way she could. He also had a part time job out of school hours where he tried to make enough money to support himself on his own. Tyler hoped that he would be able to find a decent job once he got out of school because he didn't know if he could go to college afterwards.

These things in his life had given Tyler the perspective on life that 'Life isn't Fair' and that you had to make the best out of it. He doesn't really have any passions and just prefers to move through life as he goes.

On his way home from school he almost always takes the bus but today the bus broke down at the stop. Tyler just considered this to be his usual bad luck and decided to walk home. Little did he know that this little twist of fate would lead to the greatest adventure of his life.

On his way home he would have to pass over 3 streets and walk around 5 curbs so he considered this walk to be a very annoying walk especially since he was not very athletic in any way.

As he was passing over the second street he noticed some kids playing ball with big smiles on their faces, "How great it must be to be a little kid with no problems" He thought.

Just as he was thinking about this one of the boys threw the ball too hard and it flew to the street, the boy who was supposed to catch it saw it flying and didn't think twice before running after it.

He ran into the street and was about to pick it up when suddenly a truck came rushing around the curb roughly 20ft away from the boy.

Tyler began sprinting as hard as he could for the boy with the hope in his mind "Please let me make it".

Just as the truck was about 10ft away from the boy Tyler ran into the street and pushed the boy out of the road with as much force as he could muster.

Suddenly before he could even blink the truck was right in front of him and all he could think at the moment was, "I wonder what mom was making for dinner tonight..... Will she be okay on her own without me....?" Then before he could do anything his world turned black and he had left that world.

Then suddenly he awoke, he opened his eyes but he could not see anything except blackness all around him.

He tried breathing but it was as if there was no air to breathe, like the blackness had swallowed all of it up. He expected to suffocate but surprisingly he felt as if his body was completely fine, in fact there was no pain at all on his body.

He remembered what had happened remembering that he got his by that truck and thought, "Shouldn't I be dead? Is this the afterlife?!?".

Then out of no where something appeared in front of him. He took a moment to collect himself and look at it. It was a small text box with the words.

[Congratulations (User)]

After reading it the box disappeared and another appeared.

[Please select a name to be addressed by the System as]

All he could think at this moment was "Wait what?"

Then a box appeared which said,

[Please confirm the name "Wait what?". Confirm Y/N]

Tyler immediately answered "NO!"

[Please select another name]

Tyler answered slowly, "Erebus...." This was the name he used in a lot of games he played.

[Please confirm the name "Erebus". Confirm Y/N]

Tyler replied "Yes"

[Thank you Erebus for confirming your name. Beginning introduction..... Congratulations on achieving the System. Due to your actions before death you were chosen as the next inheritor of this function. Will you accept? Confirm Y/N]

Tyler had an increasingly confused look in his face as he said "Sure..." He wasn't sure what was going on but it sounded like something other than death which made his decision decently easy.

[Understood. Continuing introduction, the user Erebus has accepted the System which is a form of high intelligence that presides over reality as a whole. The System can help Erebus achieve great things but will be unable to do this in the Users current world, as such the System will now move Erebus to a new world where he can begin his journey]

[One moment...… Now transporting the User to (%#&@*)]

Tyler was extremely confused as to what was going on when suddenly he felt a vacuum force coming from the darkness as he was pulled down into it.

The world suddenly turned black once more.

Moments later he awoke and opened his eyes to see a vast green field at which he was at the center of. He was laying on the ground staring up at the blue sky.

He was extremely confused at this point as to what was happening but then remembered the truck and looked around for it with fear in his eyes.

After checking all his surroundings he began to slightly calm down and then looked at his hands. He almost passed out after seeing them and then looked at his body and he lost consciousness.

After a couple hours had passed he awoke with a gasp. He remembered what he saw and checked once more and just as before, his hands and body were pitch black and some of the blackness seemed to be leaking off of him in the form of smoke.

There were no clothes on his body either but one would not be able to see his body anyway.

He was extremely confused and began to feel his hands and body but they felt no different than his skin always felt which confused him even more.

After a moment he tried to stand up, he easily stood up and in the process felt so much energy. He felt more alive than he had ever been and as though he could do anything.

After standing there for a moment he looked at his surroundings and then back at himself and yelled "What the hell is going on?!?!"
