Start the training

(Toji POV)

I woke up in the same position I was in last evening. I must have fallen asleep after thinking about the future. I came a long way. Hard to believe that I used to be a kid from the streets who was beaten to death. And now ... I just came back from an anime universe after fighting a God of Destruction ... 

I love my life now. I can't wait for what it has in store still. I should start putting my other powers to use. My Hogyoku is far more powerful than the original one, due to the things I 'fed' it. Both the right and the left arm of the Soul King are in there and I gained their powers ... at least in some form. 

I didn't try to do it, but technically I should be able to use the Compulsory on Beerus and grow more powerful. As for the problem with energy ... well the Compulsory could also solve that. I don't really need Ki anyway. Never mind though, I have different things I want to do, right now. Like, teaching a minor how to fight.

When I try to stand up I feel the weight on my chest and see the cat lying there. She must have fallen asleep as well ... but why on my chest? She sure has changed. I don't even remember the day she talked to me in a polite tone ... now that I think about it ... I don't think she ever did. How weird. 

I imagine her to be in the Urahara shop and then stand up finally. I then proceed to make my way ... in a random direction. I imagine walking in the right direction and just close my eyes. You can never go wrong with playing around with your powers. And this is the coolest way to play with them. I imagine walking in the correct direction and not hitting anyone or anything. 

And voila, after close to 30 minutes, I reach ... some run-down warehouse that apparently has people inside. This must be the place where Ichigo and the rest of the Vizards are training him. Quite the trash site ... but it gets the job done I guess...

I can sense the barrier placed but don't care. I just walk inside like I belong here.

(3rd Person POV)

Inside the training grounds, Hachigen is alarmed once again. Someone has slipped through his barrier like Orihime did yesterday. He notifies the others.

"Someone has slipped through my barriers again ... but it's not Orihime this time ... I believe ... I can't get a reading ... No Shinigami should be able to disperse the Hachigyo Sogai. But ... just like Orihime yesterday ... the barrier is not destroyed."

"Everyone prepare for a possible attack!", Shinji said.

Everyone grabbed their Zanpakuto and prepared for an enemy. But they weren't as cautious as yesterday, because some thought it was Orihime again. And then they saw who it was. 

"Yare yare ... look at all those familiar faces ... this brings me back.", the man said with a smirk on his face.

"That's..."

"Toji Fushiguro!"

"He must be here to bring us back!", Love said.

This caused them to get into a battle stance but not all of them. Rose wasn't really getting in any stance as he 'knew' his former Captain the best. He didn't think that they would have to fight here. And he also thought that they wouldn't be in that much trouble if they did ... 

"What a cold greeting this is. Are you not happy to see an old face? And here I was thinking that we were friends... But I guess you always were rather a group of your own.", Toji said and walked closer to them. 

He walked up to them and looked at every one of them. He was amused at their reactions. Then he stopped when he looked at Ichigo and noticed his condition. He was not in good shape. His mentality held him back ... imagine a mentally prepared and strong Ichigo ... the series would have been half as long. 

"Fushiguro-san ... ", Rose said.

"Hm? Not Captain Fushiguro? I am disappointed Rose. Where did you leave your manners?", Toji said.

"We don't owe you anything, scar face!", Hiyori said.

"Scarface? Because of this little thing? ... not bad ... quite the cool nickname.", he finished with another smirk.

"What are you here for Toji Fushiguro?", Shinji asked him. He was the one who was most apprehensive. This man just slipped through Hachigen's specially created barrier and acted like it was nothing ... like always.

"I was sent here by Yama-ji!", Toji said.

This made them all very tense and they got ready to engage in a fight. But Toji was only amused by this. He then finished his sentence. 

"... to teach Ichigo and keep watch over Karakura Town.", he said.

"*Sigh* still the same Captain Fushiguro...", Rose said.

The others were partially relieved. But it was still strange for him to come here if he truly didn't want to do anything with them.

"So what? Do you think you can just come here and take Ichigo with you?! He is one of us now!!", Hiyori said proudly.

"Well, actually I thought of training him right here. You know if you have the space, why waste it?"

"Huuuuh? Are you an idiot?! There is no way we are going to allow that! Now leave, you are not welcome here!", she said.

"Listen here, midget. I need neither your permission nor your comments. So if you have nothing constructive to say, then I would appreciate it if you were quiet.", Toji said.

"WHAT did you SAY?!?!", she screamed.

"Did I stutter?"

"Why you!! Take this!!", she screamed and attacked him. She tried to kick him as this was her go-to move. But it didn't work ... AT ALL. Toji blocked her foot with his finger and then looked at her and the others with a questioning gaze. 

"I am confused. What's this going to be when it's over? Is there something you didn't understand when I told you I was sent here for a mission?", Toji said.

"We don't appreciate you just coming here and using this place like you own it. No one messes with our friends!", Love says.

"Yeah, it might be time for you fossil to get a reality check.", Kensei said.

"Fossil? Wow and here I thought you guys were smarter than this. Rose you are not going to fight your old Captain, are you?", Toji asked.

"If you plan on going through with this ... then yes.", Rose answered.

"Hm ... what a bunch of idiots you are. I see that the last beating has been too long behind Rose. We shall use this chance to change this then. Come!"

The group of Vizards attacked. They thought that the superiority in numbers gave them any kind of advantage ... they thought wrong. Every one of them attacked with either a punch or a kick at first. Kensei even used his Shikai to try and cut him. 

Toji just looked Ichigo in the eye with a deadpan expression. Ichigo was confused by the situation. He didn't see Toji as dangerous or a threat, but the others were different. They continued to try and do ANY kind of damage. But it was all for nought. 

After a moment of letting things go as they did, Toji had enough. 

"Gaya ga urusai na.", Toji said in a low voice. And then a wave of Haosshoku Haki came off of him and knocked all of the Vizards out, one by one.

"Tose katerarenaiyo.", Toji finished when all of the Vizards were knocked out cold.

Ichigo meanwhile was looking at the scene with wide eyes. He had also felt the Haki but didn't understand what was going on. Toji wanted to make this introductory part, where he will have to show him that he has something to teach him, short. He didn't care about what he thought and only wanted to begin.

"Now, my young friend. As you heard, I was sent here by the Head Captain to keep an eye on Karakura Town. I believe Orihime already briefed you on the ... shall we call it, Aizen problem. So you should be clear on the problem at hand."

"Yeah, she told me yesterday. I will stop Aizen!", Ichigo said.

"That is very noble of you, but you must understand that the way you are now ... it's impossible."

"What? What do you mean? I have been working on my Hollow mask and have defeated my inner Hollow ... I am much stronger now and am only working on prolonging-"

"Yes, yes, yes. Tath is very nice but I believe you have some things a bit confused here.", Toji interrupted Ichigo.

"Confused?"

"Yes, confused. You see you are what we like to call ... strange. An anomaly if you will. A tribrid. You are more than just a Shinigami. As you have noticed already, you have Hollow powers ... this is a bit unusual if you will. Now this inner 'Hollow' has been bothering you. Have you already questioned why he did that?", Toji asked him.

"Yeah. He wanted to become the King and take over my body.", Ichigo told him.

"Become King? What do you mean?"

"He gave me this whole speech about refusing to be a horse for someone weaker than him ..."

"I see. What an interesting Hollow you have in there. What is his name?"

"..."

"..."

"What?"

"What is his name? The Hollow. What is the Hollow's name?"

"Why would I- ... I don't- ...", Ichigo said and then stopped.

"Ah?"

"Well, he claimed to be called ..."

"Are you going to tell me or do I have to hire a private detective?", Toji said annoyed. 

"... Zangetsu."

"So your Hollow told you his name was Zangetsu ... and you ... don't believe him? Or why are you saying it like that?"

"Of course, I don't believe him. I know who Zangetsu is. It's the old man. Old man Zangetsu. He can't be Zangetsu ... that's just not possible."

"Interesting. You have multiple spirits inside your inner world. Quite the curious revelation. I would like to meet your Hollow ... do you think that could work?", Toji asked Ichigo.

"Meet him? Why would you want to meet him?"

"You see Ichigo, I am not sure whether you understand what is going on around you. You might run around in a Shihakushō, waving around a big butcher knife and call yourself a Substitute Shinigami because of your badge, but I don't believe that you have fully understood the truth of the situation.", Toji began.

"Wh- what do you mean? What is there that I don't understand?", Ichigo questioned. 

"You see getting your information from Urahara Kisuke has made you a bit ... misinformed shall we call it. Kisuke likes to keep information to himself and only reveal that which he can use to further his goals. Now I am not saying Kisuke is bad, by any means. I am saying that he didn't tell you everything. And this is getting apparent now. 

So before we begin your serious training, I believe I should fill you in on some things. I know that you are still young and have this burning desire to protect everyone, but this makes you inexperienced and prone to rush into situations without thinking ... and that is weakness. And that is a sin, dear Ichigo...", Toji started off with a normal voice, but then got more serious to the end.

"Weakness ... is a sin?"

"Not in general. Everyone was weak at some point or the other. Or at least most were. That is not a sin per se. What is bad, is if you don't try and do something to change that. Staying weak is a bad thing and rushing into any situation just to satiate your inner thirst for protecting everyone ... is such an example. As is not getting all the information you can about a situation you find yourself in."

"I think I understand. But what does-"

"I am getting to that. So listen closely now."
