Part 5 "Our place"

"Where are we going now?"

Ask Zeltar in anticipation of hearing Alan say that it is time to rest.

"As I was saying, right now I will escort you to dorms, after that, I will meet up with Dr.Amanda again."

"But what am I supposed to do now? I mean, it might still be daylight outside."

"*sigh*Zeltar if you want to hear my personal opinion, I would go to sleep. Don't know how much has Reek informed you about this place, but here morning starts early and I mean really early."

"Fine, if you say so."

"Oh, that reminds me, did you take clothing or anything?"

"No, parents still wer-"

"Fantastic!"

Words can't even fully escape Zeltar's mouth before Alan grabs him by arm and snaps his fingers. Just for split second, the black mist started to corrupt his vision, skin feels like it was replaced with ice that makes the whole body freeze to the bone. Even if Zeltar was willing to scream in that short momentum he could not. One would ever assume that he was standing right next to a sleeping dragon that he is not allowed to awaken from its peaceful dreams.

"Are you even listening? ZELTAR CLOUDS ARE FALLING!"

"AH! What?! What happened?"

They seemed to appear in the corridor. There is nothing unusual about it, red carpet through the entire floor, many doors that lead to different rooms, just a simple hotel level.

"I used waypoint teleportation, didn't what to walk around too much so, now we are in dorms, right in front of your room"

"W-what was that strange feeling?"

"Ah, you mean shivering cold? It's nothing really. Have you ever jumped from the high ground into the water?"

"Well, a few times."

"Your body produces adrenaline in these seconds that you are falling. Teleportation into your waypoint works with the same principle but in this case, falling is replaced with your body being transported into other places. Piece by piece, molecule by molecule, just in mere seconds. You will get used to it in the future."

"I hope so."

"Anyway, I have a little surprise for you."

Zeltar raises his eyebrow in disbelief of good news.

"Hahahah, relax it's a good one."

He takes small keys out of his jean pocket, it has a special name tag:SF-M24. Not that it makes much sense to Zeltar but other rooms on this floor don't have such a label. Most of the time rooms are labeled as T leather and a particular number on it. Seems like whatever Alan wants to offer to Zeltar is actually something special. He inserted the key in a particular door. Right after doors into the room are opened, a haze of dust comes right out of it.

"Holly cow *coughs* what in the world is this?"

Alan looks at his little brother with such an enthusiastic face, that almost seems like he doesn't give a damn.

"A while ago it was my personal room, since I decided to become a teacher after graduating no one really asked me for keys, so I decided, why shouldn't I give you a personal room where you will have only one obligation."

"What kind of?"

"Keep it clean."

"Sounds reasonable."

"Oh actually wait, there's one more thing."

"What exactly?"

"There can't be more than one girl in your room at once. The only exceptions are team meetings, school projects, birthday parties, and funeral events because I don't need any kind of harem bullshit going on in this place."

It is obvious that Zeltar is amazed by his brother's words, the one that looks like an unquestionable, ladies man, is actually concerned about having a relationship with only one woman in your life at this moment.

" Oh and-"

A sudden sound cuts him off his thought. Alan took out a small glass screen from his pocket, as he looked at it he just turned him back to Zeltar and went off. There was no bye or explanation behind it, just the face he had back then at research moment and silence.

"B-bye, I-I guess."

While the opportunity is given Zeltar looks around the rooms. Place Alan gave to him has one small kitchen that is quite unimaginable how could even two people fit in there, the distance between kitchen furniture and the wall is a rough little bit more than half a meter. A big plus is that knives are sharpened since Zeltar has no clue how to do it right. Cabinets are made out of gray wood, it brings back memories about home but not in a bad way. It is viewed as what this place gives that home could not. The bathroom and toilet are built in the same room, it's three times more space than in the kitchen, and the floor is made of nice dark blue tiles that seemed to be pretty new. As Zeltar turns on the shower, the shower turns him off with rusty, stinky water that comes right out of the faucet. As he allows water to drain, after a little while it becomes clear. Lastly, there is a bedroom and in comparison to other rooms, this one is astronomically huge, or at least Zeltar thought so. One antique, light brown writing table is in the corner of the room. Two leather couches in the middle are placed back to back. A big bookshelf that is full packed with different types of books that are mostly related to historical themes and as well there are quite strange books meaning of which Zeltar can't even guess.

"Battle series 11: Art of manipulating, what is it supposed to mean?"

He puts the book aside and keeps inspecting the room.

His eyes fall on an abnormally large window that has a view of half of the campus and lake.

"Gorgeous."

Said Zeltar to himself amazed by the opportunity to have his own, proper room. However, there's no furniture or place in a place that wouldn't be covered in a carpet of dust. It almost seems like no one visited this place in years, it might be possible that Alan tried to keep this place in secret, but for what reason?

As time goes by Zeltar decided that he wants to visit the park from the beginning one more time before he gets some rest. The glorious place that represents paradise in his eyes makes his wish for visiting it even bigger. He puts on his shoes and rushes towards the door, he finds stairs to the first floor and storms out of the main entrance. Upon reaching the park he stands in front of torii gates that still give him shivers, it's almost like he enters a forbidden place that only gods are allowed to set foot in. Walking along the path of white plates he reaches a silk flower meadow with a great fireberry tree in the middle of it. He sits right on the roots of three and rests his back against it.

"I wonder, why no one goes to this place?"

"Isn't that the beauty of it?"

Girls voice that comes right from another side of the tree answers Zeltar's question. It is not like anyone would expect such a turn of events, so after realizing he is not alone, he does what he always did.

"Ah, I am sorry! I am already leaving."

As he tries to stand up girl from the other side starts to feel even more bewildered the Zeltar.

"N-no, there's no need to leave. It's not like this place was made only for me or anything."

"I-if you don't mind then, yes I would like to stay here for a little longer."

"Good, I also need an adept listener for my tune."

"Heh, I guess you should find someone else. I am not an expert in this area."

"I guess it's the perfect time to become one."

"I-if you don't mind."

"Not at all, just get comfortable and enjoy the peace that purifies your mind from all of your worries."

Zeltar closes his eyes and tries to imagine himself flying in the sky, free from all of the problems or difficulties that would make him hit the ground. And after a view is made in his mind, a girl starts to sing at a slow pace.

" When the flowers stop blooming the kingdoms will fall,

the birds will sing songs of the heroes long gone.

But there is still hope, the champion that sleeps,

let's beg for his help while down on our knees.

Through pain, through sorrow, through blood he will go,

but even Ragnarin wouldn't scare his brave soul.

His mind will transform, and so will his heart,

people will see him as servant of dark.

With the heart of the beast and the rage of the dragon,

there will be no match for a hero, the last one."

Her voice makes Zeltar's bones melt as if this would be butter. The breeze of wind brings the scent of sweet flowers and citrus fruits, it must be her perfume that gives such a charming smell. He feels truly happy for having a mysterious singer behind him, it gives back memories of days when mother used to sing bedtime songs. As the thought of asking her name visits Zeltar's mind, he already is helpless but to get irresistant for girls angelic voice and falls asleep.
