Maiden's diary

Nightingale now paid attention to her journal, lost herself in thought for a few minutes and started to write.

" He spoke something I heard from him before like Magna Carta, glorious revolution, divine right and mandate of heaven, in the past he explained those words to me for a bit and I somehow understood a glimpse of it.

During the meeting today, he used those words and they were all speechless. Even princess tilly his sister don't know what do these words mean. I believe even Anna never heard of it.

He even told me once that he was not addicted to absolute power he now holds, he would let people choose after the war of divine will finish, we will be surprised when he introduced us to democracy.

I heard of democracy before when we were talking in his office but the term democracy sounds too good to be true, and who can guarantee that the people's choice will always be good. What's if they were wrong?

I remember, he even started to write some manifesto he told me that was even better than democracy. Something called communism, I think? Everybody equal, common ownership? Aren't Communism even more of a dream?"

Sometime Roland will tell Nightingale a joke that was not funny as he thought.

For example, Roland told to Nightingale around the time he takes control of the Sandpeople, he said: "I took their oil field, should I promise them a democracy?"

Nightingale grabbed at the edge of her cloth, stared at it and thought about the time Roland gave her the cloth that he himself personally design just for her. Thinking at this point, she cheek turned into rosy color a bit after she thought about chest strap he gave to some witches in the Union, she looked at Wendy who now really fallen asleep then looked at her self and somehow thought. 'Even when she lies down on the bed face upward. Why was it so different? Well, it's the style that matter though.'

After her focus shifted a little, she concentrated back on her journal and returned to write

"Before the meeting, when he asked me to go gather and check all of his people in the castle and thought he was alone, He said 'Barov are you gonna become my Judas? Should I call this operation to catch you 'Last Supper' and use 'It is the one to whom I will give this piece of bread' as a signal?' Who is Judas? Are they someone in Greycastle's history? Why did he compare Barov with him?

After finished gather the people and came to report, I saw him crawled on the ground in pain and said ''Even you Iron Axe', it made me so shocked, I thought Iron Axe send some assassin or sniper to assassinate him, so I hurry to his side and ask what's happening with him but He told me that it was nothing and he just want to imitate Ceasar's 'Even you Brutus.'

What do those phrases mean?' Who are them? It seems he embarrassed getting caught red hand so I didn't ask further and asked to get out, but before I go I believe I heard he mumbled 'Do you think Neverwinter is Zimbabwe? I will show you that this is Turkey.' Where are those place? Sometimes His majesty words really nonsense."

Nightingale continued to write but start to feel asleep, so she stopped and lay down on the bed tried to sleep.

If there is not this case, today should be count as her wonderful day. She was very happy today when they get back to the castle on the coach together with Roland. 'I want to travel like this again with him'

She reminisced about what happened today.

"Lawrence, do you want to go somewhere more privately?"

Roland coughed after Nightingale called him Lawrence.

"It's fine, you don't need to call me Lawrence." Roland blushed after he stopped being in the cosplay mood, he began to feel embarrassed.

Like how you get up from the hotel or motel and walk while dress in full costume to go to Comic-con or Comiket talking with your friend, will you feel embarrassed? Maybe not, but when your emotions turn back to normal, things will get awkward. That's what Roland feel right now.

"Lawrence, do you want me to teach you how to ride the coach?" Nightingale giggled and teased Roland

"Please, stop. Don't do that. Just call me like the way you do…"

"But I want to call your name, not your Majesty." This time it's Nightingale's turn to feel embarrassed but she still continued. "I want to travel like this with you forever. When everything finishes we will do it, okay? " Nightingale turned her face to the side and looked into the horizon.

"NO!! don't raise a flag. Even without this, your flags were more than enough. It's already more than six flags " Roland stopped her, her flags were already a lot.

Nightingale doesn't understand his meaning.

"What do you mean by that? Six Flags? What is it? It doesn't have anything to do with this."

" You may not understand, Let talk about something else."

"How about destiny? Do you believe in god?"

"Not sure."

"What's do you mean?"

"At first I believe there are no gods as a wise man once said 'religion is an opium' but now I am not sure. For now, if I have to summarise I believe there are two types of gods."

"First?"

"The ones who created us, an almighty with unimaginable power beyond human imagination"

"Second?"

The ones created by us, somehow people tend to become too attached to this type of god. I once believe that there is only this type of god."

"So now, you change your mind. Then, do you think your coming here was god blessing?"

"Not sure it was a blessing or not, but I will thanks him anyway." Roland paused a bit and said quietly. " Because he leads me to you."

".....Pardon? I can't hear you. Say it again, please."

"No."

"Please, I want to hear it again."

"No. You clearly heard it, I won't say it again."

They continued to bickering until they reach the Castle and soon Lorgar brought back the news of Barov treason.

Roland called many people but Edith was nowhere to be found.

Before she fell asleep, Nightingale thought 'Where is Edith? We only know that she and her brother were not in Neverwinter. Are they went to the northern region? Her father on Barov's side. But what's about her? I thought she had a feeling for Roland."
