Their is actually an anime of this book on Netflix using the same title. The anime is good, but since I have not read this yet I am not absolutely sure how faithful to source material it is.

What are you talking about? THIS IS the source material. The anime was released after. It's been stuck at 1k+ chapters since about 5 years ago with little to no updates. I've read this way back in my first year of highschool and I'm in college now. I guess there's no translators for it because qidian forgot to hire a new one just like all the other jewels in this site like Trafford's trading club and Demons beside you. Instead they place their manpower on third-rate stories that makes your head hurt, your body cringe, and your mind lose brain cells every chapter.

Actually I may have misunderstood you there. If you're referring to the anime being faithful to the wn then although I've only watched an episode or two of the anime I can tell you that although it stays faithful, the pacing of the anime is quite fast and skips a lot of details, scenes, and dialogue from the source. Just like many if not most other animated or live action adaptations of novels.
