Hi! Im the MC. Right now I'm kinda weak, but that will soon change! Shocking, right? You might get in to my adventures at the beginning, as I jump from level to level (or star) on my fiery steroids. I might meet a incredibly attractive girl(s - as in: many) that might like me! And also, I might piss of a sect or two... Or a dozen... Ish. Roughly 2/3 of the organisations I meet will want my head on a pike 'couse of my stupid antics, but hey, Mc, right? After all, the young should couse trouble as our below 20 (AS THE NOVEL AUTHOR REMINDS US THREE TIMES PER CHAPTER) years of age Mc does borderline idiotic stuff, but heyyy, it's alright. Power creep is a thing tho. No matter as I try, my opponents are always 2-5 stars higher than me! Even when I reach the "omg so strong, rarely seen elite" there are always dozens of stronger people around every corner! Baffling, really. But it's ok! I can beat them! After all, during the time they cast their mega dao technique I can wait 15 minutes or so as peanut gallery has a half chapter long conversation how awesome my opponent is and how deadly and fast his strike is - history background included. At least, my team waifu is also included in power creep! Hurray! Although, I do wonder how the girls do it sometimes... No matter. There is always someone who jumps in the fight at the last moment! Sometimes it's me, saving people I met once like 5 years ago, or sometimes it's some new enemy to save my sworn enemies I was thiiiiis close to killing. Boy, does this happen a lot, huh. Hope you like to read about fictional plants never before mentioned anywhere before as I throw them to the pot for several chapters! 15 minutes all you need to read it as a manhua. So don't bother to read some 2000-3000 crap. Wow, I am disappointed to hear your take on the series. However, if this is how you feel about it. Then all Wuxia web novels should be avoided by you since you seem to only see the repetition rather than the story itself evolving. Because these type of suspense word count developments are common through every single wuxia novel there is to let you know what is happening is out of the ordinary even to the increasingly stronger people viewing the actions of said MC. Each author simply has their own specific gotos and their choice of words will be different from one another, but it will be the same repetitious stuff. The fact that the character does actually mature with age and create fewer antics created through short-sided anger and irrationality seems unnoticed by you. Most of his time, after turning 18 and through the rest of the story, the MC has been a character that is rational, thinking more of others, having the foresight and mostly acting in self-defense and protecting someone else. He has been gaining more allies and enemies along the way which is normal with anyone trying to reach unprecedented power in these stories. I am only on chapter 800 so far, in which he hasn't even turned twenty-one years old yet, but he is already becoming even more mature and well rounded in his thinking. Walk into a random Walmart or Target and watch teenagers for a short while and then remember how old the MC is at the beginning of the story and tell me that he isn't acting beyond his age even when he was a mere child. However, I respect your opinion, but simply just have a hard time understanding how you have managed to read this novel for so long despite your distaste for it.
3 Years in 800 chapters? Mate, it's IMPOSSIBLE to forget the age of MC as the author shoves it in our faces all the time through the npc reactions - "he is just ~20 years old? IMPOSSIBRU!" or "sigh, young people must couse trouble" - by some old foggy. How much a person can change in 3 years? Not much. So he does not. Find some odd flame, eat it, make everybody suprised "but he is so young!", make more super steroids, hang around with his rape "wife" (but it's ok, she likes him now!), piss off more people, fight them, repeat. How about those pills the he like to make all the time? Imagine how much shorter the story would be if you'd kick out like 4/5 of those impossibly long explanations of fictional plants and interactions between them. Once he starts, jump 2-3 chapters ahead to see the results. Many stories can get away with those things with interesting plot, setting, fight or characters, when Mc really got some motivation beyond "revenge for my master on the whatever sect" or "getting stronger 'couse I dont like when others are stronger than me". Characters are shallow, all of them. His rape victi....Err, wives. Yes, wives, got some backstory to them at first then quickly fade to the background when he "tames" them. Mc himself is shallow as well: getting stronger, revenge, here - have a kiloton lotus mix in your face, now I'll refine some fire/pills. If only his combat scenes were interesting. But no, <a new challenger appears!> <this is his backstory> <everybody else is amazed by his skill and history, even though they should be fighting other people> <actually no, even in "big fights" other "npc" fade in to the background too, what they do or whom they fight is irrelevant, it's all about Mc> <look how impressive that /skill name/ is, this is its 1/3 chapter long backstory> <Mc gets the drop on the bad guy! What a shock!> <Mc was so impressive that all of the fighting stops> Despite all the fights, cultivation, and flame searching... Not much is going on with him is there? Say, what was the question? Ah yes: "Can you describe a character without saying what they look like, what kind of costume they wore, what their profession or role was?" He is a guy and he is really in to pills and revenge? Makes girls look at him with "complicated" gazes? 1300 chapers and all the story got to show for it is non-stop increase in power levels (over 9k!!!), bigger harem, longer pill refinement and not much else really. The story itself is a blur after not reading it for a while. Revenge on some brat for humiliation, revenge on some sect, revenge for his master, more revenge, eating fire... Didn't we all seen a guy like this before in other stories?
