any parent that abandons their children are bad,no matter the reason. this shows that they were not willing to let their son suffer,and that's okay,but at least give something to remember you,and that explaining why you have to temporarily do that...

there is also a reason why they couldn't leave something behind you can say they were manipulated.

I am gonna say the major spoiler because you really obstinate in your opinion basically when he was born he was dying due to a illness and they searched for a cure but they couldn't find one then a old man(he had reputation) he told them that the only way I could be saved was if they abandoned him in a place basically it had something to do with karma and all of that was just bullshit said by the old man in reality he wanted to shape the future of Meng Hao to be the next Demon Sealer and the protector of the remnants of the immortal world. this is all I remember from reading this book 2 years ago.

and they didn't leave anything for MENG HAO ? at least leave a fucking pendant with some memories and a fucking explanation for him...

Don't really care about the mom and dad as characters, but they got rid of the whole "underdog from backwater town" thing real fast. It makes rereading it unenjoyable because you already know he's from some giant clan, which kinda discounts all the danger he's going through. It's the same thing with the demon sealer guy, now we know Meng Hao is backed by some ultra-powerful eccentric and he's destined for greatness, all the tension in the beginning just goes *poof* gone
