The characters are total blockheads. The translation is good, but the story itself is disappointing. The first few chaps were okay, and I'd really love to see the MC get stronger and have her revenge. But all her enemies are consistent in being idiots. All characters are poorly developed. The dialogues contradict each other through and through. All in all, it is unbearable, so I'm dropping this. Better spend my time with other novels.

I guess every genres have their own types of tropes that they indulge in. So I am not looking down on the Chinese web novels. I have loved reading fantasy books for a long time and they have their own tropes... Mary sue or gary stu. The beautiful and tough as nails female MC or the young, poor and moral male MC( usually farm boy or apprentice or some lowly servant) . Then they find a master or a magic item ( ring or sword) to suddenly make him or her super powerful etc. Also there is the ever present deus ex machina. Also don't forget the Prophecy - there is always one about the MC. 😊
