Certainly, hope this novel isn't destroyed by Harem and a vicious MC who slaughters innocent people for a petty reason Most Xianxia novels with potential end up dying that way

Completely wrong. The xianxia that die from slaughter are those who try to justify or whitewash it. Such as "I'll kill this entire city of 900,000 people just because two or three people from one of the several powerful families in the city insulted me"... That is bull****. But if you don't whitewash then it can make a novel far better than before. Just think Warlock of the Magus World, his slaughter of innocents is so pure and ****** that it actually makes the novel go from great to greatest. A devil that pretends to be good is disgusting, but if this MC is a devil and acts like a devil then I have high hopes for the mayhem he will cause.

I like worlds and characters that fit and build a believable whole. Japanese School LN will have people heavily against killing, since that is the social norm. Slaughtering people and having multiple women makes total sense in a cultivation based world, where the strong rule and survival is the purest form of survival of the fittest. Women even in our world tend to follow the strong males - it is instinct. In a world, where your male support is vital for your future generations and your own life, following a strong and talented male to the point of sharing with multiple women is totally normal and nothing special or bad. Having only one women is convention on earth - not even everywhere. Don't superimpose this on a fantasy novel. I don't want to read the novel, where the protagonist gets sued for damaging property after having a fistfight and then going to jail for being unable to pay. Also I have never seen this so called slaughter of innocent. Who is innocent in the first place. In a dog eats dog world the concept of innocence is rather vague. You should go back to reading your Japanese shounen novels and manga. You can have - mostly - children oriented, peaceful, unrealistic fantasy worlds as to your liking. Have fun.

Hmm let's see how many novels have been ruined that way MGA God and Devil World ATG etc Everyone is entitled to their opinion mate Am fine if a female character is introduced formally or a new way into the harem most of the time its something like this The MC is forced to rapes the female due to special circumstances (MC is drunk, Drugged, In order for his cultivation to advance, Has a grudge against the female, etc) The female hates the MC for like 3 chapters then falls in LOVE with the guy who just RAPED her THESE FEMALE CHARACTERS ARE NOT LIKE OTHER CHARACTERS IN THE NOVEL FIRST THING A) They are either some worldly genius accompanied with a country destroying beauty ( Most of the time cruel to others aside the MC) B) Have a mysterious background that eventually ends up supporting the MC after few skirmishes with its young masters because their ego has been punched by the MC or they secretly like the female so they want to teach the MC not to eat a swan because he's a toad, etc Another method the author uses usually involves the MC running away and ends up being saved by a female beauty then they bang or the other way around the female MC is chased by some rival and she's drugged and the MC shows up heroicly to save her then they bang etc Again everyone is entitled to their opinion if a female is introduced in another way other than the usual then this novel is bound to get boring cause that just the way it is You can't expect people to like a story to be interesting if the plot is forced Most novels nowadays the MC is an arrogant narrow-minded ***** or idiot (Depending on what you want to call him) who offends people --> Gets a strong backing/ or Get stronger then defeat them --> If the enemy he just defeated ends up having a bigger background than originally thought --> He loses his backing then he still offends the stronger background the last guy had then there goes the loss of face and some other normal **** 300 chapters in and this has happened like gazillion times Xianxia novels are all basically the same tbh there are only few exceptional that you can actually enjoy reading without being spammed by the repetition of plots

There are times where certain over used plots fits in with the story and the author of Warlock of the Magus World clearly knows how to do it I personally like the character and the book. Eventhoah sometimes things go overboard but it eventually falls in together like a puzzle that's been solved and that whats best about the book Some other authors tho they fail to explain the MC action enough for people to actually understand their action of slaughtering a city for just 1 or 2 people we've seen that in God and Devil World where MC slaughters people of different region just because they didn't give face to China or some nonsense **** the author just came up with It really depends on how the author utilizes these kinds of scene sometimes it makes the novel really interesting or just makes it another Xianxia out there

Seems you just didn't like MGA very much as all your examples seem to stem from there, ATG still makes a better attempt at romance in a harem than most other novels and God and devil world is a post apocalyptic novel where the MC isn't a good person although he tries to act like it but you can just see that as someone who has become like those he hates but refuses to admit it... Of course he's still better than most others in that novel. Not gonna bother trying to defend MGA though.

Ye sure, I never talked about these novels. While I beg to differ as God and Devil Worlds issues lie somewhere else. The harem and killing there is within reason within the confines of the world, while the actual issue is the plot itself. ATG I gave up on around the Devil Sword Conference, since as you say many things happening in this novel are just insanely retarded. MGA is a bit too raw in general - you would think someone who cultivates for 10 000 years is smarter then a general bar thug, but no, you are wrong. Rape is totally fine for me, while your right about those examples as being somewhat infuriatingly obvious nonsense. I am just saying, that neither killing without a care, nor a harem has to be a problem in these novels. I have read basically all translations, which are further in than 100 chapters - on all the bigger translation websites - and there is quite some, where the harem isn't a problem at all. I also read Japanese and European novels and honestly - the ones with the most nonsense about harems are the Japanese ones, while European ones often get very annoying with their emancipated worldview, which often doesn't fit into that particular world.

This website has other genres, the internet and the nearest library certainly do as well. Your just so free to go and read whatever is to your liking. We like many of these novels - that is the reason as to why they are so popular. You are using the Hitman as your profile pic. It is not like these Japanese shounen stories are not full of absolutely retarded nonsense, when it comes to plot progression. There is very few exceptions and Katekyo Hitman (Reborn) is definitely not one of them.

I should say i agree with Leylin and Tenko more or less, What i hate the most in some novels is 2 thing ! I hope "Get Lost" also don't bring these 2 things in his story. 1st : MC try to kill someone or his whole clan just because of some verbal not giving him face lol specially when it's not a good thing to do at that time or his power is not enough to Finish it cleanly and will invite future trouble, you would think people who cultivate for many year and have their mind and intelligence improved so much more than normal humans, would be more tactful but nope ! 2nd : If it's gonna be Single girl and not harem ! don't bring in a lot of girl every few chapter having a many encounter with MC and having MC Tease her or sometimes hugs her and other things, then she stay faithful to MC and wait for him all her life ! but MC go for that 1 girl and give no fk ! :D i wouldn't be so mad if that girl just go marry someone else but author make them stay for MC till last chapter yet MC ignore. if It's Harem ! it's more tricky ! the author should be able to make a good harem and it's not easy, when readers forget name of a harem girl or her story, it mean she was not developed enough, story did not really needed her. the problem with most novels is the non-harem have memorable girl who you want to cheer for mc but stay lonely till she die ! xD harem have lots of girls who either fell for MC or MC rape then they fell for MC, right and left ! I normally don't like Stories with more than 3-5 harem girl coz it usually end up bad, There is one exception is Grasping Evil, So far MC got like 1k girl "wait on his bed" but not his wife, he got like 8 wife and i can name and say all their stories completely. the story also is not about girl or no useless drama at all mostly and is really well made and deep and mysterious, both fights and techniques and dao and world building is huge. MC is not a bad guy, wont betray friends, but no problem killing and stealing stranger's treasure and loot them even if they did not provoke him and were innocent, it's a cruel cultivation world after all. ( he wont kill mortals who don't cultivate tho )

Its not only MGA doing this a lot of Xianxia novels are just doing it and it's basically everyone copying the same thing for years now. I liked MGA but over time it just lost its color

Amen Brother am supportive of a good harem but a terrible one where you just reach the point where you don't really get the point of some characters other than them having to bang the MC once in awhile the story line just gets terrible

Then just stay off the google translate sites like xianxia world, thats where most of those novels are, qidian, wuxiaworld, gravitytales, volarenovels(cant vouch for all the novels), and some more all mostly have novels that have depth to them

I dunno about the rest, but from what I've seen of volarenovels, the translators are really nice and thoughtful and some even include glossaries to keep track of some details (I would say all, but I'm not actually sure so meh)—not gonna try to jump into the xianxia plot debate though; personally just like xianxia because of the definition of the elements it includes in general, and haven't read enough to judge anyhow :P

Tenko, fantasy worlds aren't "unrealistic" simply because the MC isn't a mass-murdering pussy fiend, and it is possible to write good works in the huge creative space between the two extremes you've pointed out.

I think what he's trying to say is, if you guys didn't know, THERES SOMETHING CALLED FORGIVENESS. You don't have to kill every single fucking person who offends you. The kinds of novels he is talking about is the one where the author make it so that everyone except for the MC, his friends, or companions, or douchebags and evil as ****. Can they not follow the same fucking plot over and over. While there are some exceptions, a hell lot of them are the same. For example, MGA, ATG, Charm of soul pets(Pokemon), Coiling dragon, True martial world, Hell I could go on and on if I actually gave a **** about naming them all(Don't get me wrong, I somewhat care about this comment). So what I am trying to say, stop trying to defend them because if you read enough of them, you'll find the exact same plot.
