That was before it was "premium", they've done the same thing with multiple novels, and I can only assume its Qidian's end goal to have every novel on the site premium.

Translators don't have control over premium status, it's decided by Qidian. Sad to see all the ignorant *****ing and whining at the translator.

Premium is forced on the translator. They also have to close their patreon accounts if they have one open.

Well not forced, but Qi is really pushing it on them says Leo the translator for swallowed star.

It is copyrighted works. Though what is preferable is the original author himself should just open a patreon account himself and hire translators. Or like facebook make money fhrough ads then content can be free.

Why did they remove the ads anyway?

Ads make almost nothing in terms of revenue. You need almost 300 people to watch ads to make a $1

It is fairly ridiculous just the sheer amount of locked chapters. Thankfully, WW has all of them up without a crazy paywall.

When premium still had the promised one a day free, and can use daily SS to keep up if your ahead or want to read ahead for a few days, it was tolerable. Now premium is a permanent lock they breaks thier promise and makes the 95% that don't or can't buy hundreds of dollars of SS each month blocked from reading more then one premium novel if even that.
