The Devil's Cage is an excellent story if you are into the whole new to the world protagonist who is kinda over powered but at the same time has realistic flaws. To be honest I didn't think that I would like this story in the beginning. But the way the protagonist develops is kinda cute and cool at the same time. note that most of the story finds place in a game world. I just hope that in the future we get to here about the real world before 2567 supposedly saves himself from dying to a chronic disease.

(spoiler) So far no... the people he meets are npc (natives as the gamers in the novel calls them) or other gamers. He does have "friends" but the game he is a part of, is a dangerous game. If you get killed in game you get killed in reality. The protagonist decided to be part of this game because he has a deadly disease and no money for the cure. and so far, what we see in the novel is, that he is a rational thinker who knows when to take risks and when to run. But this is not a harem or love novel. It is a innocent kill or get killed novel.
