it would be better if the tree sacrifice some of it's ability to save MC from severe injury caused by demon , rather than MC get AWESOME POWER after a battle , but because MC is idiot hypocrite MC, he choose to throw away that power and sacrifice MC future just for idiotic hypocrite way of thinking. MC is not a saint, he **** a lot of woman outside marriage, kill a lot of living being, PRETEND to be a god and lie to the masses.
