This novel started great. First 100 or so chapters, it really pulled me in. But after the Endless Sea arc starts, everything starts going downhill. Still, i kept reading hoping that it would get better, yet after mc reaches the Yang family, it just gets worse and worse. After that i could only keep up to chapter 322 which i just couldn't take it anymore. Author just keeps destroying or changing the characters personality to fit the immediate nerrative. They flip around all the time including mc. Author also destroys his worlds rules all the time. He sets a rule, then comes a person who not only break those previously set rules, he practically sh*ts on them. Mc's ruthlessness that we have seen at the start is nowhere to be found anymore. Harem, or if i can even call it that, got too annoying. Mc is like a lover boy going after a single girl, but he is also lusting after others at the same time, yet taking no action whatsoever. They serve no purpose and honestly characters are just so bland. This novel is indeed very bland and quite honestly really annoying to read. I was expecting something good, then it turned into something avarage and lastly it just turned into a chore to read. Sad really, feels like author got lost very quickly. This novel had alot of potential, very unfortunate that author couldn't follow up...

All i will say is that you won't be able to find the ruthless mc of the beginning of the novel at the later parts. Author had something different, a real ruthless mc that rapes, exacts horrible tortures, massacres entire families, making a husband watch her wife get raped and get her head cut off etc. He was truly ruthless and a scum. It was definitely not for everyone, especially not for female readers i guess(not sure how you would take this so be warned), but it was at least something different. But somehow as story progressed author turned this into another one of those generic xianxia. It even has that trope of 'you(the body) actually had a prowerful second family but they are in trouble now' plot. At the later parts cockroach enemies becomes dime a dozen with only the nameless henchmen dying like flies in every conflict. He also has his generic love interest. A guy who would just take any girl he fancies right there, turns into a lover boy who limits himself at every point. And i'm not just talking about limiting himself se*xually here, i'm talking about all aspects. All his ruthlessness is curbed. And even the aspect of s*x has turned very annoying. He still lusts after every damn beauty he finds ofc, but oh no he won't touch them. He will just complain in his mind and somehow these girls will basically become untouchable harem that buzz around him, serving no purpose. He literally turns into any mc you could find in any xianxia at the point i dropped. All his threats have become barks at this point. Some would call it character development, but i call it castrating your mc. I mean i get it, no decent girl would love such a scum of a guy, so i guess author felt that he had to turn him into a generic mc so that he fits this girl? Idk, worst idea ever, and really out of place how he turns 180 from his personality that made him different from all the myriad of generic xianxia mc's out there. Author should have found another scum psychopath bloodthirsty girl for him if he really felt that a lover was a must for such a story. But he instead chose to completely 180 his mc to fit the decent girl. So well, if you are fine with reading a semi decent generic xianxia, go ahead, know that you won't find the novel you have started with at the later parts sadly. I didn't come to this novel to read about generic old sh*t, i came to find something different, but left disappointed half way...
