Filled with super cliches and poor story. At some points this author sounds like a twelve year old, aka I'm so baddd I floss with a sword, or I'm do rich I dip steak into caviar (how, just how). To be fair I stopped at chapter 20, and it might get spontaneously better, but with a start like this... I doubt it.

You have read 19 chapters. You have not even seen one grain of sand of what this world has to offer. That is why random persons should not be allowed to vote. By this time Grimm is a mortal, complete useless low-level being that should die in a few decencies. And you dare to judge this book when you have not read a single thing of what it has to offer. Of course, this book must have cliche in the first few chapters, you should know how old literature is. The author places a big importance on the mentality of his character and the development of this world. So for the next hundreds and such, it will be a bit boring, like life. It's only when Grimm become a full-fledge Sorcerer that we will be able to see how complex this world is.

19 chapters. That's not a little bit. I read pretty fast but that was hours of reading. And I'm not a "random person", I didnt read the synopsis and rate the book. I read part of the book. And even commented that yes, I only read 19 chapters out of its 500, so it might get better. Stop harassing people just because they don't like a book you do.

Sorry if my "random person" bothered, I mean that allowing anyone to review is dumb, I include myself in that. You have indeed at least read 19 chapters. But even if it's hours of reading for you, it's not even 5% of the current translated chapter. It does not even leave time for the author to barely introduce anything in his world. And I'm not harassing you. I'm responding to a review that you openly post in this site. I am therefor allowed to see it and be in disagreement, and so I respond. I'm sorry that you were the one to receive my answer among all the other bad reviews of those who rated it badly but did not read close to anything.

Read Chrysalis. Very different story, but the world is built and separated from cliches in the first few chapters. The first few chapters are essential for worldbuilding, it's not something for chapter 100+. The world is a setting that the story happens in, you need to understand the world before the story goes anywhere, otherwise the story has no context, and therefore no impact. *SPOILER FOR ANYONE ELSE* A ship full of dead teens is "shocking" but not when the world goes nowhere. Is this normal? Is this standard? Would this have happened anywhere in the world? After all, apparently quasi-canabalism is normal and even sought after. The beauty claims used to be humans, but people eat them. Without that distinction, then a death pit has no impact, because "This is how this world works, I guess." This is supposed to be normal, so where is the story?

It's nice if this author is original upon the start of his novel. I simply think that the author of ASJ wanted his reader to discover the world along with the mc because this is what happens. It must mean that this novel wasn't made for you if you don't have the patience to wait for 100+ chapters to discover the world (which is understandable). Sorry if I was aggressive, it's just that this novel was forgotten because of a lack of translation for many months, resulting in low ratings. Now that we finally have an awesome translation team, I would like to avoid this novel to be dropped by Qidan. Plus the fact that this novel is premium, which leaves the chance of it becoming popular again... Anyway, I'll read Chrysalis since I'm in lack of books, thanks and have a nice day~
