The reviews are so overwhelmingly good (seriously every single one is 5 stars) that when I actually read the novel, I thought the reviewers and I read two different novels. The start of the novel is a mental grind, lots of words, lots of environment descriptions, but hardly any concrete info you expect at the beginning of any story. The good reviews were the only reason I kept on. When things do manage to get going, it's a sandwich of filler paragraphs and stress inducing dialogues (which lasts for the rest of the story). Lots of scenes are unimportant to the plot and can be skipped without the reader missing any integral details. There are lots of questionable points. The appearance of the villains (who are affiliated with his ex-girlfriend who he still loves) had me giggling, wondering whether these were adults or little kids. I'm curious though, it's said that the MC's hair was tested and he could not become a mutant. But the story never really delves into people who apparently can't. The whole mutant abilities is in the air. At first you had to eat a fruit, then later eating a fruit wasn't enough? And animals evolved, the mc even picked up an intelligent calf with horns who helps him get stronger. No kidding, he learning technique and cultivation from the calf. But then, won't pet owners become super powerful? I wanted more on this... And there was a director who filmed "real action scenes" of people getting killed for his movie, a plot prop to make the mc famous. Isn't that movie going to be seriously censored or banned? There were lots of similar points in the story that were not well thought out. The MC's background is fussy at best allowing space for plot armor. The romance? It is a guy chasing an uninterested ex, who controls a large company. Said large company is the cause (directly and indirectly) of the MC's confrontations (about 90% of it) and results in all sorts of brain dead people dropping by his doorstep like they don't know the meaning of EX. Well, that and the villains have a recycled mentality, they won't stop or cut their losses till they are dead. I wonder how these guys maintained their positions as the top dogs with such low IQ. Seriously, why waste some many resources and precious mutant lives on a commoner? And keep sending more after it is clear that they are killed? Even my dog knows when to give up. This is unbelievably my longest review, so it's time to end this. I'll leave with a deep chasm in my heart now that will make me wonder if I am a tasteless person till I stumble on another good novel on this site. Overall, it was a mesh of several ideas and a book that had me deeply pondering: What is the purpose of the mc? In what direction is the plot moving? Am I not literal enough to grasp the sparkle in this book? Is my common sense too shallow? Am I weird for speaking out when others seem to be enjoying a hodgepodge essay?

I agree! The reason I tried reading this LN was because of the 5 star reviews and the good 4.4 rating this LN has. Then after reading through more then 100 chapters this LN was a total letdown and made me yelled out curses sometimes while reading some chapters.
