Translation quality is very poor ruining what could be one of the top stories on QI. For the most part the translation is overly verbose which detracts from the story. MTL translations of the first chapter read better than the QI. Even the synopsis has glaring errors that have yet to be resolved: Moons wax and wane! While it may seem alright to use Moon wanes and grows it's ridiculous to partially use the correct terms in a sentence. Attempts to politely point out problems with the synopsis and initial chapters have been met with silence hence this post.

Follow up review. After several months I decided to try again(starting from ch 5). The translation seemed MUCH improved. I still came across occasional mistranslations and misspellings but they mostly did not detract from reading the story. I did not come across the 'stagger' term mentioned in other reviews. Most annoying was the name change midway in translation but translator commments said they would go back and fix so it may be a non issue in the future. The story would be well served to have a thorough review of the chapters for the common translation mistakes in spelling and grammar. If done so I would consider this one of the better translations and stories on QI. Mike the translator has MUCH approved in translating and looks to be one of the better ones in the future!

In regards to the original story, if you like Chen dong stories(which I do) you will find many of the common elements in this story. The mischievous main and buddies, the great world building and excellent humor. Overall I can now recommend Sacred Ruins to readers.

Hello Checkm8, I'm Alsey and I joined TSR as a translator starting from around Chapter 93. Since then I've had serious discussions with Mike and we had gone about ****** some amendments to the past chapters as well as drawing solid plans to improve the upcoming ones. I believe that since then, we have made great progress in improving the overall quality and reading experience. We would also like to go back and redo the earlier chapters, but with the pressure of releasing new chapters every day, it had proven slightly difficult. Thank you for the detailed initial and the follow-up reviews. I hope you continue reading and I would be glad to receive more comments and advice. Cheers

I have applied to QI as an editor with the suggestion that they need a proof editor to go through the existing chapters, especially some of the stories with a large number of chapters. I took the editing test two weeks ago but have yet to hear back.

Lol, thus is great. ONE you are two years late to the party and have no idea how the original translation was. TWO you completely ignored my follow up review (in the same review thread) where I said the translation was much improved.
BlueFlashSlash:Dunno what you are talking bout, the translation is perfectly fine. And you say, "what could be one of the tops stories on QI," but it is the best story buddy. Only novel that I find could compare is Er Gen's newest one.
