I originally wasn't fixated whatsoever onto the story, at a lot of segments the development turns out arduous, or leaves an indescribably annoying itch after an arc has ended. And yet, I keep coming back to it. Time after time, it feels like the author might run out of ideas, and the world felt really dull and shallow - .... as shallow as you could call, the endless abyss itself. The story feels like a spiral that expands to infinity in the overarching narrative, which although the transitions feel weak, the arc from the moment he arrived to the western continent, I can't even begin to describe the sheer epicness and continuous hurdles and excitements that we face. The humor isn't even the greatest point of this story in my opinion, but the truly legendary overarching narrative - from the demon world arc to the time travel arc, the revelation was done piece by piece that we could derive our own conclusions on said stories, and yet, from the beginning to the end - no one expected the truly incredible twists that grip your heart. And all this, in such a way that although the main character seems to be the type to pull plot armor out of his ass, you feel actual fear and danger for the main cast, as the urgency and vibrancy of the world makes you both attached and worried for the characters within! The start might feel slow for some, but believe me, stick with it. The pace is a constant acceleration leading to an incredible climax - by the time you get to meet Ouyang Shang, you have truly discovered the best characterization of a main character of all times out of quite literally any piece of literature i've read. Which is solely my opinion, of course.
