Review Detail of SR_2027 in Genshin Impact: I'll Subdue Raiden Shogun No Matter What

I rarely write reviews cause it takes too much time but this seems like a story with potential ruined by MCs character design. Through I won’t be very harsh with my review and will try to be as thorough as possible for helping author to improve. Normally I don’t start with negative feedback, but let me be honest. The start was really bad. No one wants to read about an absolute simp MC with dumb personality. Maybe author added it cause he wanted to make him funny and make his goal simple, as is the title of the book: To ‘obtain’ Raider Ei in any way. Which I don’t mind to be honest. But no one likes to relate themselves to a Reddit mod personality guy. So let’s start with detailed review. ——— Chapter Read till: 7 - Writing quality: 4/5 Quality seems good. Readable and simple. The only problem is like there’s anexcessive use of exclamation marks, which can turn off many readers. Also MC talking in a way too casual manner to everyone can ‘maybe’ turn down some readers? - Updating Stability: 5/5 6 chapters a week is more than enough to fill this rating to 5. That’s a great release schedule. - Story Development: 4/5 I would say that story design is very generic, but it’s good too. It’s simple. We know MC’s goal and his personality from the get go, which ‘could’ be a great way to start. BUT I didn’t like how MC just get super demotivated as soon as he learnt that he don’t have any money and he can’t register as an adventurer. He then sat down at a random lake wasting his own time. This is completely different from his character. If he is actually obsessed with Ei, then he would definitely not mind swooping low as to beg for Mora or try to get work anywhere nearby just to meet ends meet. If he didn’t awaken his system, then he would have wasted hours of time and would have starved to death! Which is a massive dumbness from MCs side if you want to make him smart and strong enough to ‘obtain’ Ei. There’s just more to it then that. But I’ll stop at that as that’s the massive turn off I felt during my read. - Character Design: 1/5 At start I felt like he was basically jokingly simping for Ei. And even if he was not, I would have been fine if he was at least smart enough to accomplish what he wants to achieve. Like I mentioned earlier, it is a massive turn off just from reading how he would have potentially wasted time if he didn’t awaken his System. The character is also not likable. He’s simping. And maybe there are people who might relate to it, but there aren’t many who will actually enjoy his excessive simp behavior and his dumb decisions at many points. - World Background: 4/5 I like Genshin but I don’t like their starting story development. But it’s an definitely decent work to have as an World Background. ——— Overall: 3.6/5
