'author'(really using that loosely here), wasted the beginning 4 chapters on things such as; take day off to prepare for novel, take leave in preparation for novel, & 2 more chapters of that rubbish. so no matter how brilliant the story could potentially become, the authors philosophy or views on the audience can pretty much be seen already.

I am completely in sync with your thoughts and frustrations. everyone naturally has the right to do and make a living how they want. still to see the often flagrant disrespect and disregard that these no longer starving 'authors' treat their audience with is incredibly accurate displays of life imitating art scenes. often these authors begin with really uncomfortable levels pandering to the audience at the beginning, with regular chapter note thanks and banter. Then when those authors begin to get in a proper writing groove, here begins the initial release of super saiyan, ugh correction i mean the authors superiority complex mixed with shades of super disdain, which is then released in the form of 'take audience feedback & gifts for granted'. this phase is then followed by 'you dollar signs should just be grateful for my efforts in order to relase chapters for you ungrateful, whining & complaining little dollar symbols. be good objects of my wealth and just shut up, send gifts and definitely no input/suggestions/critiques ever again. You bunch of uncultured simpletons need to just gratefully wait for when i feel like writing and uploading/chapter releases(whoah i furiously hope that im not projecting or something even more serious lol)
Fiaran:Yeah, it's bad enough that many "translations" lately seem to mostly mtl, but to leave all these authors' notes at the beginning is just screwing us readers over, what with them locking stories at anywhere from 12 to 20 chapters these days.
I feel your pain, brother. The worst thing, for me, is that what you have here is not an author. Webnovel hired a bunch of cheap translators and didn't bother having an editor review their work. That's how you have author's notes (quite humble, mind you) that clearly came from different parts of the original text, squashed together at the beginning. This cheating is probably more chapter count for the translators to get paid, not Webnovel/Qidian robbing us of a paltry few more unlocked chapters, but the end result is the same - junk and us readers losing out.

once again, I'm in completely in agreement. sigh yeah its something that has been noticeably increasing. even authors who previously were all quality have also begun taking on those bad traits. now I have to hold onto those nostalgic memories and try not to feel like that cliche old man who starts every sentence in a movie with "back in my day... followed by abrupt heart attack" some parts might have been me forcing my imagination onto that memory lol

yup hit the nail on the head. it seems foolishly self-defeating but maybe it's a strategic move of reverse psychology. who knows, but personally I find it beyond difficult to want to read the novel further
HADE_Thoppil:what i don't understand is that the author is not popular and still he/she has so much arrogance that they waste even the free chapters. Don't they know that free chapters are to form opinions about the novel but this gives a negative vibe to readers.image
There are no translators or editors involved in most of the newish translated works on Webnovel anymore. It's almost all done by AI. If the translator is "549690339", it's an AI trans with little to zero human input.

Nah, but if you check out other reviews comments you will probably find it… remember they don’t stop screenshots on reviews and just use google-picture-translate to find it
Kerensky_Falari:hey do you have the name of the original Chinese novel ?
ok thanks , I checked all comments unfortunately no one knows the Chinese novel , even after translating the novel title I didn't find anything [img=Sigh]
