The MC is a moron, simple as that. Author tries to make the MC seem more human by making him do stupid decisions and seem afraid but all that amounts to is making the MC look like an absolute moron. He doesn’t fully utilize all the benefits from the system and is slow to pick up on things. An example of this would be that MC completely ignored the daily quest during the first day and faced the penalty, after which instead of studying how the system truly worked, he just spammed status recovery as a reward just in case he would face the penalty again. Which he of course didn’t since he completed the daily quests.

The first one can be explained with him thinking he is hallucinating because he hasn't slept over the past few days. As for the status recovery, imagine yourself a regular highschool student when suddenly you had to run for your life for 8 hours, status covery is like god sent t such a person like do you really think his traumatized self will prioritize skill over a second chance at life. Any other thing you want to say that show he is a moron, I am more than willing to explain it.
