While their gender has never been confirmed, there are hints that suggest Imu is female, such as seemingly possessing long hair, her outfit being reminiscent of a wedding dress. The crown she wears being similar to crowns worn by other females in the series. That being said, it could also be a male because Oda wouldn't want Luffy fighting a female for fear of backlash citing misogyny etc. Personally, I do hope Imu is female because it's very rare to have a female final boss and if done well it could promote more diversity in antagonists going forward.
