the author tries way too hard, every sentence us filled with unnecessary big/complicated words and the descriptions end up take massive parts of the chapters, its not a bad story its just a chore to read and gets boring very quickly with how rigid the conversations are

Hahaha. If I use easy to read words, people complain, saying can't you use some good words it feels meh to read. If I use hard words, still the complaints continue. Why are you using hard words? Anyway, I don't know how far you have read, but as far as I know, I stopped using hard words in the later chapters.
