When you don't post proof of the author giving you permission, it's usually meaning that they're stealing since they could have easily just posted the proof and not get any hate for it. Besides, this is Webnovel. It's super easy to take anyone's work and post it as your own with just a few clicks, they don't care here.

As far as I know an author can report that his work was stolen, Webnovel is relatively strict with stolen content, although only if the author earns money from the stolen material, and if the original author claims Webnovel, I saw several stolen fanfics being removed due to copyright, if this was not deleted it means that it was not reported or at least he does not earn money by publishing this, really I don't know 🤔
