society that has been controlled by the big corporations in the Overlord irl right? as far as i know alan alaf who asked mc for convenience in game was rejected and with alan alaf's connection this could stop mc from his job. now the mc is just a player with almost thorough knowledge of the Yggdrasil games who will likely be changed at the request of those with connections. Sorry for my bad English
