Okay! I’ve read far enough and I don’t think I can continue. The people in the book are all pieces of rotting arse!! According to the synopsis and title, I really expected a simple yet lovely romance but I got slapped with rotten human beings🥲. It’s as though all the women in this book don’t know the meaning of empowerment. Are they secretly in a patriarchal society that has no tolerance for women? Like all the women are somehow sexually tied to a man. It’s like they can’t own their power and are only thinking “I’m too in love with this man, let me offer my body,” or. “I want something from this man, let me offer my body.” Or “I’m jealous of this girl, let me steal her man with my body.” And the men look down on the women, hit the women, abuse these women and the women take it. They just shade a few perfunctory tears and run right back to the very men that abuse them. Does the author severely hate women or are they a male chauvinist? Author are you secretly a man? I don’t know why these books don’t have R**e and S.A and domestic vio**ence warnings. Because it’s too much. There should be a SCUM AHEAD tag on this book. Believe you me, all the characters in this book and good cases for mental asylum. The female lead is tortured by the world around her and tortures herself as well. The male lead is- well I’m not saying anything but birds of a feather… you can’t be friends with a devil when you’re not a demon yourself. It’s not a happy romance. It leaves you sad and twisted inside and honestly, I can’t walk through this. It makes me hate relationships and marriage- like!! Otherwise, if you like very bloody dog drama and angst situations. This is for you. The translators have clearly done a good job and the author is good at what they do. What I really don’t get is why the fl has to keep dealing with her family’s nonsense. I’ve been waiting for the moment she announces that she has left them and is no longer part of the family but she just goes back to be slapped everyday. Maybe it’s just to stir up drama. Another thing is, she can leave the Cheng group and associate with the Chen group. She says the Li company has a lot of potential. With a boss that is the only non toxic character in the book, surely after a few years, she would grow to topple all those that laughed at her. Because according to her, it’s the ml that is single handedly maintaining a large corporation and the rest are just garbage that needs to be checked on by the ml. Honestly, from the BOG to the small employees, everyone except the ml and fl are incompetent. Of course such a company would be doomed to fail irl. And that is so much stress on the ml. Where does he even get time to wait on fl? she still doesn’t take the option of leaving the Cheng group because she wants to torture herself. She tortures herself again by sleeping with ml. Honestly, the Cheng family are a bunch of a**holes. Even if she supports only Cheng Lang, the rest of the family won’t live in the streets as long as he is earning. The Cheng family will still benefit from her hard work. ml hasn’t done anything particularly awful but as he is part of the Cheng family, he just looked like poop to me. He is just a lot less stinky. In the meantime, I really hate Nie Heng. I really wish he was the bottom of a gay couple with someone with a really big d*** and very high libido that only wanted him and would only do things with him.
