Honestly the story is way out, I didn't mind reading the story with my brain turned off at the start but then the third shinbi war happened. Firstly the war only lasted a few months and then at the end of the war a year turned over from 46 to 47 and suddenly Neji and his generation is being born and the akatsuki has already being established even though Nagato and the other members of the akatsuki are still supposed to be children by this point in time. I'll just chalk it up to it being a CN that it turned out like this.

While i havnt read the book, imo the timeline seems to be fine. 3rd Ninja war ended officially after stone surrendered due to minato being unsolvable, and as soon as the war end 3rd hokage stepped down to minato. Naruto was born just a year later which makes minato official tenure as hokage for only a year. In story Neji and Lee class was one year ahead of naruto so everything work out timeline wise.
