So... What I'm getting from the synopsis is that the MC is a selfish, lazy f*** who let his family, who always treated him like a treasure despite his slovenly ways, fight to the brink of destruction, before reluctantly stepping up to save them. Doesn't sound like a MC I'd enjoy reading about.

Yeah, MAYBE the synopsis that tells potential readers what the story is about might not be the place to make the MC sound like a lazy narcissist, and should honestly reflect the story?

I mean, the character of the protagonist doesn’t exactly mean the story is bad. But it probably is bad because, y’know, system xianxia.
