maybe this comment will be very racist, but i don't mean it that way. the author/translator has chosen very, very similar names for ML and FL. For me, who normally doesn't see asian names, it is very confusing to read such similar names, and i don't think it will make the reading experience easy, especially if the translator is going to confuse he/she, as they often do these days on WN
