This book has way too many unnecessary descriptions, I have to deal with that by skipping to the relevant details, but otherwise it's a pretty decent read. In exchange for slow pacing you have good worldbuilding and constant supply of character progression, making the plot smooth and satisfying.

actually, I'm wrong. A sage was introduced in person in the story recently. And to clarify transcendants have been mentioned the Mc just hasn't talked to or seen one yet

uncledavie:I don't really know what you mean by more, but if you mean martial levels, then maybe. Transcendants are basically God's, and the Mc hasn't even met one yet, the same for sages. FYI rn the mc is about to become a senior probably, so he's still only a squire.

can you explain the cultivation system??

So, the novel is about martial arts, and there are six levels of martial artists that we know of:Martial ApprenticeMartial SquireMartial SeniorMartial MasterMartial SageTranscendantBy ascending each level, a martial artist is able to further their power in different ways. Martial Artists ascend each stage by improving their martial art, although it is usually more complex than that, with each stage having specific requirements that must be met. These requirements are usually obscured from younger martial artists because knowing them can impede their progress, so you get to find out the details of each stage with the MC, which can be pretty fun. This is also the reason why I kept my explanation pretty general so as to not give out spoilers. Hope this answers your question.

so is that all or is there more, you don't need to spoil, but simply mention if there is more

that's slow asf , the novel is 1200 chapters in and he's only in the 3rd level

It is emphasised on the story that the gap within martial realms is very large, meaning the mc has to remain at them for a while to make sense, tbh for me I loved it, I thought the author managed to keep it pretty fresh regarding both the martial arts and techniques, which is often based on real world principles and science, that the mc uses as well as using exciting settings for the mc to grow. it’s not necessarily slow paced later on but the mc makes a lot of progress a lot quicker in the first few hundred chapters, I’d argue I actually felt the novel got better as I read more, so I’d give it a try, probably my favourite novel I’ve read, or maybe that’s just recency bias.

I honestly skipped from chapter 40 or something to 1300 and felt like I didn't miss much, that's how slow it was

To each their own, the quality of the story is so good it pulls people for their story. It seems you are here for the power system, if that is the case you should read Supreme Magus or Sword God in a Fantasy World.

Good authors often leave hints to prime slow or forgetful readers to keep them in the know. It is a technique I call babying, you were babied. Expl When creating a technique derivative of godspeed technique, author reminded the readers again.

supreme magus also has mc paused at 1 magic core level for like 1k chapters, so that doesn't have a great power system, but I have finished sgwm and it was a good readI can see that this is interesting but it's a bit too slow for my tasteto each their own is a very apt description

Interesting take, it is true that it takes a bit for mc to of Supreme Magus 10-20 chapters till mc breaks through to blue rank (3-4 rank). Many people often talk about how full and detailed the power system is and every chapter introduces something new. This might be rude of me to say, but it seems you are far to focused on the Rank part in the power system when more often than not it is redundant. For expl, Rank 4 mc will great fight with other rank 4s and 5s, and if Mc is at rank 5, mc will fight rank 5s and 6s. Basically if you are looking for a "Good" book that mc ranks up fast in, realistically you will have to instead look for a book that mc ranks up fast.
