typical story like this from China. female lead is young and pretty and smart and educated. Father sells her into marriage to an older man. she hasn't seen the matter and it's pretty much shut up in her room and told she's going to marry this guy the day after she meets him. she knows nothing about him. she has a normal human reaction which is to not want to be sold into marriage. tries to escape and gets disfigured due to plots. In and she dies but she sees the loving look in the ML eyes. So when she is reborn she decides it's okay she's totally going to clean to the sky because he looked at her lovingly and took care of her. why does no one ever address the fact that if these male leads do it on and loved these women then why would they purchase them from their parents? why would they force a marriage onto them? why wouldn't they even think about giving the girl time to get to know them? to court them? to listen to their thoughts and respect their opinions about their own bodies in their own lives? But me as a reader, I'm supposed to forget the fact that this guy literally purchased a younger woman from her parents and this woman is being forced to marry him... I'm supposed to forget all this because he totally dotes on her. I don't even need to read past chapter 5 to be over this story. This is a work of fiction and there are 1 million and one different routes and author can take to have the mail lead in the female lead hookup. But this author purposely chooses a route where a girl is pretty much sold into a marriage with someone she doesn't know who is way older than her and then the story revolves around that it's okay that her family sold her to him because he loves her and so she should just be obedient. screw China.
