The part where he reveals everything to everyone about himself in such a short time breaks the immersion in the story. If it was on purpose by the author, fine, but it's very hard to sympathize with it. The character wakes up in a strange place, which for him is fiction, and goes out announcing his situation. In that sense it doesn't seem like he was a soldier, because even if he "knows" the characters there is no guarantee that they are the same, something that is basic and someone in his position should take into account.

The "spill everything like it's verbal diarrhea" trope is a story killer. It ruins the story and is always unnecessary. It doesn't improve or really add anything to the story.

I don't know if you played the game but but first the supernatural creatures are all from the fusion of worlds of different planes. Secondly the travelers of dimensions, although extremely rare exist and geralt has met several (example CIRI). Thirdly Ciri has already traveled in the modern world. Lately the characters who talk a lot and tell their life to anyone who wants to hear it, are very common (example JASKIER). The author did a good job writing the story
