It has quite the nice flow with great usage of the MC's PoV and jumping into the history lessons that build up the world where the novel inside a novel is happening. The weird [nouns] could take some getting used to but at least they delivered their messages quite well and what kind of event they are associated to. The history and major events or phenomenas that this novel's world having their [noun] designations is quite the nice touch. Anyways, the villain in a novel trope is quite an enjoyable read to go through as comparing and contrasting the original villain's action to the "new" villain is something to look forward to.
