What just happened? I was fully invested in the story and the characters journey. I loved the bleak, yet hopeful atmosphere of it. Along with the willingness to go to dark places exploring loss and despair in the face of overwhelming odds. Then BOOM the shifts from well paced to faster than light. All the build up, set up, pacing, character building etc. All of it thrown to the way side to finish the novel in like 10 chapters. With so much looked over and unexplored. Basically all three levels of The Tower are skipped over (especially the 2nd that isn't even mentioned) after so much build up and struggle getting there. Then the set up Nemesis of the first part of the novel (basically set up to be a reoccurring obstacle) disappears never mentioned. Did the MC get revenge? IDK! Same with the GOETIA System users. All for an ending that could've been great if we saw the Journey to that point. However we got to experience the first quarter then got snap shots of the rest. If I was to rate this up to chapter 247 everything would have been three stars or above, that rush to the end though soured the whole experience.

Obviously, this wasn't how the story was planned to finish -- that much is clear. Fact is, I had other projects that took priority and my passion for this story faded -- at a certain point, I hadn't touched it in weeks and it was going to inevitably end up either on a very long hiatus, or simply never have an ending. Instead of leaving it unfinished, I decided to at least show the ending that I intended, albeit by cutting through the bulk of the story.

Thanks for answering and I get it somewhat. However, I honestly believe most people would have preferred a long hiatus that might’ve extended for awhile till just a drop. With a synopsis on why and then one for where you planned to take the story. If at some point along the way you didn't have some inspiration bringing your passion back. With a definitive end like this that option is kinda cutt off. I will admit I don't know you or your process. So I can't fully understand the decision, and will assume there were plenty of factors that lead you to thinking this was the best choice. In the end it your time and investment, and it's your choice how you use it.In the end I'll keep my score and review as is, because I think that's what the story at hand deserves with a rushed job like that. Know that I've picked up Online in Another World, and have liked it so far.Again thanks for your time and consideration.

Glad you are enjoying Online. Yeah, I'm not really defending the way I handled Dual System, just thought an explanation on how it came out that way would help. I do plan on some point in doing a sequel to Dual System, or perhaps a spin-off that does showcase what happened in the years between the first floor and the end. But, that's too far away to be something to count on right now. How far are you in Online?
