im sorry i dont think we read the same thing...this is shot story...nothing mames sense...he knows he has powers and can best his bullies yet runs away scared...doesnt fight back...has spider man powers yet doesnt realize it despite knowing about spider man and marvel and being a super genius...author said he wants something beleivable yet nothing is beleivable in this story if a grown man finds hinself in the marvel universe reborn as a child even if its a femsle body no way would anything happen the way it did in this story...
humans are easily effected by their environments. even a grown man who would be considered tough could become like this when put through enough trauma. people can't help how they feel and feelings are hard to rejected when they are rooted in u from a young age as shown in the novel.maybe u need to grow a hear so u can understand that.

Understandable, but... Even then it's unreasonable for him to care about children. Sure he's traumatized, but he was 40 years old. Not twenty, not a teen. He should be able to withstand something like this.
