SPOILER!!!!! MC is a mindless simp he literally played a game for less than a month and when he died, his only regret was not finding a happy ending for the villainess game character, in his next life he even had a dead mother (who was very loving apparently) and he couldnt remember the name she gave him, then he was hella happy for the villainess's gift of a name and didnt even try to remember the one his mother gave him. Also apparently the memories of his past life are just like dreams for him instead of memories, but he still is obsessed with the villainess's for some reason, even when he is worried about his life, it is because he won't be able to ensure the villainess gets a happy ending. I thought i would like this better than this author other novel with the zombie (in my taste I hated that the mc lost his ego to the system to become loyal to the villainess), but it seems the author enjoys making mc's who are mindlessly loyal to a villainess The grammar and writing is still good though and so is the Updates. The world is a standard medieval world but the author takes a bit of time to explain places like the slums and doesn't just focus on the markets, manors, and academy.

on another note I mean you could still give it a try though he might become somewhat bearable in later chapters I can't really tell the direction it's going because there's already othe girls starting to like him so it could even end up being a harem idk the authors actually writes better than majority of the people on this site and at least is unique/original

personally, I've only seen three categories of people when it comes to whether they like it or not, you either love it, hate it, or it's meh. personally, I love it but it depends on what you're looking for In a story. I'd give it 20 chapters and if you still don't like it then you most likely will stay on the same boat (although I have seen people go from hating it to loving it). he is a huge simp though, that has stayed the same throughout the 140 chapters I've read so far (Spoiler!: mostly for one person).

I've read to like chapter 50 something because as long as the author is actually trying to write a story and not some wish powertrip I try to give it a chance, the story has some cliches, but it's not too bad, it's kind of like the novel falling in love with the villainess if you've read it, I honestly just dislike the fact that the Mc is so obsessed with the villainess just because of a game

I personally haven't read this yet, but the things you're complaining about seem obvious from the summary and title of the novel. What were you expecting when you decided to read this novel? It's like as if you read a novel called "Berserker" and complained that the mc didn't fight intelligently. Like, sure, in most cases that could be something you don't like and therefore review the novel badly for, but not in the case where this novel is clearly targeted towards an audience who doesn't mind that and people who don't like it have clear warning before reading the novel.

Attendant is very different from a word like dog or slave, when I see attendant I think of a butler or babysitter, the synopsis did not make it seem like the dude was so far gone he would forget the name his mother gave him.

Maybe to not that extent, but "He was desperately playing through the game in search of some way to save the villainess" and "as a side character who doesn't even have a name fueled by a firm conviction to save the tragic villainess, he won't stop at anything to ensure her happiness!" and "For my master, I'm ready to even kill the heroine" definitely give off super major simp vibes. If you read that and then still read the novel and then are put off by the mc being too much of a simp, that's on you.

there is no clear warning besides the title of the novel name being "villainous's attendant" which indicates the story is about a servant type figure trying to help his or her master but just because you're in a position of a servant doesn't mean you believe that the world revolves around your so called "master" and simping hard accordingly. what would have been a real and proper warning if the author put a "SIMP" tag for the novel. at least I felt like I would have ignored this novel entirely if I saw a Simp tag on it.
