Honestly? A gem, a wonderful story. The novel where the fluff is not dog food but propper fluff fit for all. The story of the novel was a rather comfort read for me. Or maybe it was just me being weak to handsome old gentlemen wearing gold-rimmed glasses. The MC really changed the original plotline of the novel. The story of a son of two divorced parents, the basic high school love triangle between childhood friends, and the classic beautiful new transfer student that changes the school bully into a xueba, etc. I really enjoyed the characters of the novel, it felt very lively to read and Zhou Yan (the stepson) is an absolute blast to be around lmao. He and MC are the perfect comedy duo in the story lololol. The extras have brought the novel to another height in my opinion.
