It's off to a great start. One of the few new stories with a main character and people around, that don't look like they have some brain damage. MC also makes plans and then promptly discards them, seeing the environment he is in. It can be taken both in a good and in a bad direction. It makes MC look more alive and relatable to an average reader. It can also easily turn the story into one giant mess, if the author overuses it in future chapters.
