The mc hides his power and acts weal for NO REASON or if there’s a reason it’s a stupid one such as “I don’t want her to rely on my power.” I got over the power hiding tropes with all the sign-in trial book marathons they had, now I just find it stupid and taxing to read.

Novels with MC ,,hiding" their power are not bad, depends on the execution. A good example is Cultivation! My Augmented Statuses Have Unlimited Duration where it's done nicely. I do recommend reading this novel, a really fresh take on cultivation. I liked how he acted about his power and what he decided in invasion arc.

But of course he had a reason. Invincible Uncle Grandmaster is another good example. if someone's a fan of sign-in novels then check it out (he doesn't sign in though), I thought it would be trash like all similar ones from this genre but I am actually almost finishing RAW, have like 40 chapters left. He has fresh personality, though there's no stress, it's more like a wine lover who wanted older wine and got bored of the same scenery, so he started going on sightseeing trips (areas, borders, worlds, domains, planes, universes, higher planes) and while at it acts as a protector in the background (e.g. casually setting protective barrier for sect or whole world so that it can't be invaded).

he's always hiding his true power, this point in the story (where i'm at) he shows barely 20% of his power as a qi refinement disciple while hiding about 400% of power in the form of clones (fondation establishment and golden core levels) making them do other profitable stuff and even then, he's still the best disciple of his realm in the sect, in fact, he's the best in his realm in the whole great mountain region, and he flaunts it calmly in front of all sects! it's done in a great way that shows how smart he is by hiding his power yet feed us with that swagger thirst we all want to see in a novel ... it's my favorite in the site in a while

Have you read World Domination System? It sounds like it suits you quite well! The title sounds villainish but he is literally anything but that! It was one of the earlier system novels (and is written in English not translated) as far as I'm aware as I read it after reading the raw MTL of Solo Leveling to the last chapter. It is also still my favorite story of all time! As someone who is constantly keeping up with 8+ light novels and sometimes more books that I can generally read in 1 day if under 400 or so pages the fact that it is still my favorite story says allot!!! 30-50k+ chapters read club anyone?
